I'm also sure there are a lot of good hard working drug dealers.
I'm sure the pharma companies that wait till right before a patent runs out on a drug and then makes a small change to get a new patent and then wines and dines doctors to push the new drug care so much.
A lot of the cost for drug makers are imposed by the federal government because drug companies did a lot of sick stuff in the past so they brought it on themselves.
As for comparing the two, i just think they are both for profit companies and on an individual basis one company can be better than the other. but on an industry wide basis i don't see much difference between weed companies and viagra ones.
How many lives have pharma companies saved or significantly extended with their products? It's likely in the billions by now.
How many people have cartels/drug lords saved? Maybe a couple. How many have they purposely tortured and killed? Probably in the tens of thousands.
Unlike the soldiers for these cartels, pharma companies are made up of good, educated, hardworking middle class people who are truly proud to save millions of lives with the drugs they are working on. I would know, my girlfriend is one of them. Do they agree with all of the policies of their companies? No. But they are doing a lot more good than harm. I don't know if the cartel workers have the same intention when they put people in oil barrels and burn them alive.
I'm far from up to date on this subject, but from what I've recently read, it sounds like compared to the EU's organization, the FDA is outdated and slow with some of it's policies, preventing people from getting potentially life-saving treatment, and running up the costs of R&D.
It seems though that you just have a problem that these companies make a profit. But that's how capitalism works. If you don't like it, then propose an alternative. Otherwise, you could always try moving to North Korea, Cuba, or Venezuela.
