Devolver Digital passed on PS plus/ GP deals recently , believes the agreements "undervalue" their games.

Gamepass payouts getting less as previously hinted by analysts

He is not wrong though. The amount of people, time, & money per game has skyrocketed. You have more polygons on a character then entire game just 20 years ago.

There is too much AAA games with too much "contents" but very bland to stretch out game time, with asserts taking years to build that never got use again. Many of big open world game can be made more compact, saving cost & time. They could have save 50% cost & time while charge 40% less which is win/win for studios & gamers.

Like resident evil 3. Its a pretty compact game. At full AAA price, it is too much, but at 30bucks or below, most people will be fine.

If we look again at RE Village, gam,e lengtht is mide range for AAA, but is pretty compact the areas, & for teh price, it is okay.
Game like AC games mybe value for money from "contents" but there are so much dull moments between the cool ones I got bored well before anywhere near the end.

What about movies, don’t they have similar budgets, with maybe the same amount of people for something that sells at maybe 15 to 30 dollars, that’s anywhere from an hour to four, with people dedicated to making something that’s only seen probably once?

Should the console holders consider and devs consider renting games out? Maybe the whole game for a day or two tops or have a set time limit whilst you play?

Also the XSX is a minority among the current gen consoles. Why do more for less ?
When I do something, I do it at the best of my ability. Developers are artists, and they want to see their work in the best possible light, not controlled by a corporate mandate.

There will probably be close to 30 million Xbox consoles sold soon. You may have a point if there were only like 10,000 Xbox consoles sold.

Unfortunately companies have budgets and timelines, and the fact of the matter is it's not worth it for them to put in the extra resources and time when it's already taking longer to optimize for an extra Xbox spec.

Userbase right now for current gen consoles: PS5 >>> XSS >> XSX.
