Thanks.
I think it's less of an issue than I thought it would be based on the demo. I'm getting used to shooting and launching things where they need to go.
One of the things I like about this game is that it's been so long since I played a game like this.
I'm on the 3rd planet (Aridia) now. The action is fun, with plenty of variety even though I'm still early in the game. When you die, there's no real loss, at least at this stage.
The characters are funny and one of the highlights of the game for me. The levels have seemed familiar lately, but that's okay -- the familiarity is nice, and they've done such a big overhaul, it feels new at the same time.
I like the RPG elements, too. They are much more fleshed out than before, and they add to that sense of being rewarded as you play. I'm not much into the "collectible" aspects of these games, although I did notice you get some nice bonuses from completing card sets.
It's not a hard game at all. I'm playing on Normal, because that's how I play all my games. Guys at GAF say Normal is for sissies and real men play on Hard. Such remarks make me question my manliness. However, my priority is to just relax and have a good time. I like the sensation of plowing through enemies. If I do a second run, maybe I'll play on Hard then.
Finally got the game! The 10 day delay sucked but now I can see it in all its glory. My goodness this game looks spectacular and everything is so vivid and bright. This games pacing is brilliant, not too long on each planet though I would have liked another 5 minutes on Veldin but Karwen was a great a length as was Novaris. This game might be about 8 to 10 hours long but it oozes quality, polish and refinement. Everything is so intuitive and tight to play and it has been the best game I have played in 2016 and is simply one of the best games of the generation. Insomniac nailed it.
Yeah, I agree. They did a great job. Their last two games (Fuse and Sunset OD) must have disappointed them (I mean in terms of their reception), so I'm hoping they are celebrating the success this one is having -- at least in the media ... we'll see what the sales figures look like. I've heard that it seems to be doing all right on amazon, but we'll have to wait for NPD to get a clearer picture.
Anyway, this game deserves to be a success. It is a labor of love. We haven't seen anything like it for ages (unless you count Knack, which we won't). It is so well executed, with all of the parts meshing so well (character, gameplay, variety, pacing, art, visuals, etc.). It's a great game, one of the year's best for sure.
Is there any way of changing the camera sensitivity? I don't see it if there is...
I don't think so, I didn't have a problem with it so I didn't look for a way to change it but I don't remember that standing out when I looked through the options.
Looks like the movie is a stinker, judging by the early reviews. Not a surprise, but still a slight disappointment.
I kind of expected. My issue with watching the movie is I would want to pick up a controller and "play" it. I am at least mildly interested in watching it some day on video to catch some back story into the R&C universe.
I'm still plunking slowly away. I like how they keep mixing things up. Lots of variety. I'm on Rilgar, hunting for brains.
R & C is doing well in England. It has topped the charts two weeks in a row. Hopefully, we'll see good results in next week's NPD.
