For some reason, this is the Retro character I'd like to see appear.
The evil MC Host of SMASH TV.

The movie The Last Starfighter is referenced in the book.... And also in his book Armada, which has a very similar storyline.Seems like a movie full of video game references or nostalgia might include The Last Starfighter. Or maybe one flying car is enough with the Delorean.
Or admittedly, to much of this movie was cheesy even in the 80s.
OMG Where it's that poster from?
I listened to both on audio book, while on long drives. They are both unabridged, and read fantastically by Wil Wheaton...whom is actually name dropped in RP1. Read some of the book, but then went back to the audio version, which I just enjoyed more. Armada is pretty decent, imo. RP1 is better, though. Armada is like The Last Star Fighter meets The Day the Earth Stood Still.Haven't watched a trailer yet and for some reason I have the need to watch this. Also don't really know what it's about. I saw the book for this and Armada at the book store. Friend read Armada and I think enjoyed it if I remember. Might pick that one up to start with.
More like Arse.Plenty much slammed by Ars.

What I am saying, is people can't just enjoy a movie anymore, so they wouldn't know a good action movie from a s***ty art-house film.
You are disagreeing with my opinion on a movie that you haven't seen...I have to respectfully disagree with you there. I'm sure i'll see this at some point but that Ars review actually is exactly what i was thinking it would be.

This is exactly what I'm talking about.
