i would be ecstatic at a solid 30fps at 1800p or 4kIs it possible this game is 60 fps on X?
Here's hoping.
I am positive playing RDR on 360 way back I could count the number of frame sometimes. Stand in town and a wagon of bandits comes zipping down main street and the game must have tanked to 10 fps. Great fun trying to shoot them. lol
Officially coming October 26th
Yep, don't mind 30 at all as long as it's stable. I always pick the res modes over the framerate modes.i would be ecstatic at a solid 30fps at 1800p or 4k
First it was add zombies to everything. Now it is adding Battle Royal to everything.Big Red Dead Redemption 2 leak reveals single-player details, Battle Royale mode in multiplayer, much more – rumour

I ended up picking the resolution mode over the Graphic mode because the clarity had a bigger impact than graphical boost on SoW, imo. Yeah, if you stare, you can tell that there is a bit more geometric detail, but the resolution is immediately apparent. it just feels to "blurry" (in comparison) otherwise, and It's really hard to tell what changes in the graphical settings. The only time I didn't was Shadow of War but that's because the graphical enhancements mode offered a nice dynamic res increase over 1080p and added other graphical details while pushing LOD out quite a bit. Sadly even in that mode the game isn't much of a looker but I liked the option.

Not that was overtly noticable, imo. But that It may be more pronounced now that I reached an area with higher foliage levels. I'll check it out tonight. The LOD pop in is improved quite a bit over the resolution mode plus often times you are still getting a fairly high resolution.

Yeah, Collision has always been on my wishlist. I wan't everything to interact like they do in the UFC games. Those are impressive. My biggest wish with next gen is LOD is pushed out further and also that they do something about clipping, it's sad when a game that looks as good as AC Origins has animals fighting and they just go right through each other.
not having microtransactions would literally be throwing away money... after the success of GTA5I just hope multiplayer isn't a microtransaction filled pile of horse manure. I hate manure.
So I put it on quality mode again now that I made it past Minas Ithil... yeah, the LODs are Waaaay better! Dammit...My biggest wish with next gen is LOD is pushed out much further and also that they do something about clipping, it's sad when a game that looks as good as AC Origins has animals fighting and they just go right through each other.
DLC story, yes. I don't expect that. R* would likely rather give you a $15 jetpack and mounted laser cannon for your horse than an extra couple hours of meaningful plot for the same price.not having microtransactions would literally be throwing away money... after the success of GTA5
i am worried about this game tbh, success of GTA5 online makes me fear the attention will go to MP rather then epic SP content

It's still variable resolution but it's always better than 1080p so to me it's worth it, if it were a better looking game overall I may feel differently about the resolution mode but even at 4K it's not really a looker. It looks like an early in the gen game dressed up the best they could with outdated tech IMO.
Can still look great at times.

I concur. I am playing through Shadow of the Collossus right now in resolution mode. The FPS are still smooth as butter. So far.I just noticed that we've been talking about the graphics vs resolution mode, and that we pick those over the performance mode, lol, which was the crux of my original post. That basically, as long as it's a stable 30fps, for most games, I'll take graphics upgrades... Just thought that was interesting. 60fps is essential for some games, but 30 is still plenty acceptable if I can get a graphics boost. Shadow of War (and Mordor) is a timing based fighting game as well, so it certainly can be done.

In a surprise Twitch stream today, Activision and Treyarch revealed that the next Call of Duty game will indeed be Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4.
As rumors and leaks suggested, the game is actually Black Ops IIII, apparently using a tally system rather than the more conventional Roman numeral, IV. There's virtually no other information on this at this time other than we now know that a full reveal is coming May 17th.
What's more interesting is Black Ops 4's launch date: October 12th. This is the first time since Call of Duty 2 that a game in the franchise has released in October. Both it and the very first Call of Duty launched in October, but every game since then has released in early November. And those two games came out in late October.
So why is Treyarch releasing Call Of Duty: Black Ops IIII on October 12th, a month earlier than virtually every other game in the series? I have a nagging suspicion that it has to do with Rockstar's mega-release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th.
Grand Theft Auto V was the fastest-selling video game of all time, and has gone on to sell over 90 million copies. To give you some perspective here, within three days of its release, GTA V had topped $1 billion in sales. We've spent the past several weeks talking about how Black Panther is one of the biggest superhero movies of all time, and it still hasn't crossed $1 billion at the global box office. Right now it stands at a cumulative global box office of $932 million after hitting theaters three weeks ago. GTA V beat that in three days, nearly five years ago.
Red Dead Redemption 2 probably won't be quite the juggernaut that GTA V was but it's still bound to be a huge release. If Activision released Black Ops IIII in the first week of November, it would fall directly in the wake of Rockstar's beast. Perhaps just as importantly, it's very likely that EA's Battlefield game---WWII themed Battlefield V---will launch in late October. Battlefield 1 launched on October 21st, 2016. Battlefield 4 came out on October 29th, 2013. It's entirely possible that EA will also move up that release due to Rockstar's domination at the end of the month, but now early October is a much less appealing window.
With an October 12th release date, Activision and Treyarch can get the jump on both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Battlefield V, entering into the holiday season out front rather than in the tailwinds of its biggest competitors. It also gives the game more time to rack up sales prior to the end of the year. While Call of Duty is almost always the best-selling game of the year, that's far from certain in 2018 thanks to RDR2. With an extra month of sales, Activision might tilt the scales.
Whatever the reasons, this definitely seems like a smart move.
