S.H.I.E.L.D.!

You forgot about the Summer Glau effect. Any show she is in gets canceled shortly after. See: Firefly, Dollhouse, Terminator, Alphas, and soon Arrow...
Yeah... that effect sucks. Although I liked her in Firefly, Dollhouse, and Terminator...I'm not sure how I feel about her in Arrow. She plays The Queen from the comic books..but I hope they don't stick too close to the comics and get rid of her lol, they already stopped her from taking control of Queen Industries

Whoa! Arrow is now on Netflix! I wish Netflix could've released it at least few weeks before 2nd Season comin' out (just came out this past Wednesday). I've only seen the first 2 or 3 shows on Seasons 1 last year and thought it was good. The rest of it, I missed it. :( Time for me to catch up on all of them!

The only show she didn't have that effect on was Angel, but that's probably because she was in one episode and not even a major role really.

So she and Whedon go way back eh? explains why shes in almost everything he does.

Yeah, she played a ballerina in the Angel episode "Waiting in the wings" (s3e13). Still, even with everything she's been a part of I still think or her as River Tam and always will.

BTW, I was pretty damn pissed when they canceled Terminator TSCC. I thought it was a great show with lots of potential and that season (series as it turns out) finale looked like something amazing was going to be done with it.

Yeah she will always be River to me too, and second as Cameron, definitely thought TSCC got cut way to short, deserved at least another season or two

well the show finally got good. I am really now the Agents on this show. The last episode was really good, cant wait for the next.

I really liked this last episode as well, felt more connected to the characters, thought there was a nice mix of humor and had a good plot this week!

Just watched, and definitely agree with both of you. Good episode, the endless teasing about the secret about Coulsen is going to get annoying fast if we don't start getting answers soon though.

Lol yeah, it's killing me not knowing what happened to Phil being alive. I'm still waiting for a full 100% solid answer. :D

My guess is that Coulson (either this one, or the one in the Avengers film) is an LMD (life model decoy). If you're familiar at all with the comics, you'll know that Nick Fury used a ton of them.

The current Coulson is the LMD, rewatch Episode 1. When Gunn, er I mean "angry black man with super powers" throws open the doors on the blue van one of them flies off the van, the shot then switches to Coulson as he Neo-Matrix-Dodges the door. Also notice how everytime Tahiti is brought up he automatically (and somewhat mechanically) states "It's a magical place".

I dunno personally. I think this Coulson is the real one, but obviously him surviving wasn't as simple as him faking his death. I think the LMD answer would be a pretty cheap way out, we'll have to see.

It's also like, the only way to explain away a dead Coulson! lol

This.

Also, isn't the tech behind the LMD similar to that of Ultron?

I'm not a big comic reader, in fact I only read the Buffy/Angel comics, so I've no idea if this is correct. I only bring it up because I seem to remember reading something along these lines recently.

If that's the case then it would help establish the tech in the Marvel universe for non-comic reading fans in preparation for Avengers 2.

Not that I know of. LMDs were designed by S.H.I.E.L.D. to act as body doubles for VIPs and the like, whereas Ultron was an AI designed by Hank Pym.

Okay. I don't know where I got that idea from but glad to have it cleared up, thanks.

Enjoyed tonights ep. Still not hitting the heights of past Whedon shows just yet, but it's definitely starting to pick up. Looking forward to the next episode for once.

Good episode. It looks like they're hitting their stride. I wasn't sure how they were going to resolve the "Scorch" issue but I sure didn't expect that.

Another solid episode. With the spooky first half I wonder why they didn't show it Halloween week instead of taking a week off. This episode centered on Simmons (did we know her first name was Gemma or was that a new reveal?), not necessarily in terms of backstory but we got to see her handle a stressful situation, we learned a little bit about her relationship with Fitz, and also according to my 10 year old son "she's the smartest person in the world!"

And not bad to look at, either.

Yea it was a really solid ep. The characters are starting to get a bit of... character to them, for lack of a better term. I feel like they could use another person in the team though.

Also enjoyed this last episode, think it was the best so far and do feel like we're getting to know a bit more about the characters. Was nice to see Fitz and Simmons not being their normal chirpy selves and a more serious side to their relationship.

I think Coulson is a life model decoy. It's why his Tahiti answer seems programmed.
