Sales Comparisons v. 2.1

Quite a change since this time last year. After limping along with a nasty self-inflicted wound to the foot right out of the gate, the One has survived and is well on it's way to triple the number of units sold at that point in time. $349 bundles are the sweet spot adding vital momentum to resurgent sales, and fence riders like myself proved that last month. No one is putting nails in anyones coffin, anytime soon. Sony is the leader and may remain so, but there's something visible in it's rearview mirrors, now.

Because they lost by a few thousand in one area?

LOL
Lord. Do you just miss the big picture on purpose?

With no games and no real stand out deals, the Xbox One took last month from Sony in the off season no less. If you look at the lineup of games coming this year, E3 should help that momentum. And not for nothing, but Sony doesnt really look to have too much coming out this year. Seems like a bunch if their heavy hitters are delayed to next year. I'm sure we'll see more indies, etc. But how far will they go if they have nothing to go up against juggernaut franchises like Halo, TR, Gears etc?

You may not want to believe it VaL, but Sony isnt quite out if the woods yet--even with their hefty lead. Take a read at some of the other forums-especially GAF of all places. Perspective of the Xbox One is turning around. This E3 could be Microsoft's best yet. If they play their cards right, this year could go to Xbox One.....again.

North America being competitive isn't exactly something we just learned 2 days ago

They won by a few thousand in a slow month for all consoles.
They are $50 and some places $100 cheaper or did you miss that?
It was over when the PS4 hit 10 million and it gets worse if Sony drops the PS4's price.
I am to lazy to re-post what they have coming this year which=a bigger and better lineup.

Please, for the love of god......SHOW ME THE LINE UP! We arent talking indies are we? We're talking AAA exclusives AND indies....right?

Dude, you do realize that it's you that's missing the big picture?????? MS took a "very" slight lead this past month.....only in NA. World wide, PS4 is, and continuously has been outselling Xb1. The

Not out of the woods? What woods? Again, PS4 indeed has a very hefty lead.....and news flash, this generation isn't still "new" anymore. It's almost 2 years old. We're already at best 1/4 through this generation, and the PS4 lead is incredible. From this point on, even if MS continued to take this small win in NA for the life of this generation, it won't be enough to overtake PS4 world wide.

It's funny that you'd say "the big picture", consider so many MS fans come out from under the rocks for just NA news. The big picture is world wide....the small picture, well....is just one region, lol. The big picture is total sales, not a little over 10k difference in one region in this one odd month with no games for neither consoles.

Right. So you just missed my point entirely.

Right. So you just missed my point entirely.

You had no point. It was just the ramblings of wishful thinking from someone that believes this is a sign that MS still has a chance up against Sony. Halo and Gears isnt going to magically not only close the gap worldwide, but have XB1 surpass PS4....hence your "not out of the woods yet" comment.

Even if MS took Sony EVERY single month this year in NA, it still won't be enough up against Sony's massive worldwide lead. Again, that's just wishful thinking.

You want to talk about "the big picture?" Stop talking about NA numbers and start taking about worldwide.

The hell are you talking about you twit! YOU'RE REPEATING EXACTLY WHAT I SAID IN MY EARLIER POST! I said Xbox One probably wont take WW. Its still possible for Xbox One to take NA and E3 could further prove my point. Jesus Christ!

Interesting to see dat gap continuing to close. Win win for all gamers.

News flash, not everyone reads every single post in this forum.
In context, what I quoted, you said nothing about world wide.
What you DID mention was, looking at the big picture, and the big picture is NOT just one region.
Saying Sony isn't out of the woods yet, further shows your willingness to just cherry pick markets.....because not only is Sony out of the woods, they're chilling in a major metro city. Winning a few months here and there in one region doesn't somehow make Sony shake in their boots.

What's more funny, is saying you're confident MS will eventually take NA....that's the same crap we heard late last year, only for it to go back to Sony.

It's going to be push and shove all year, every year, depending on which console has which exclusive coming out. But in the end, "looking at the big picture", Sony has nothing to worry about with PS4.

You shouldve read my first post then. Thats on you....

No. I was talking about the big picture from US standpoint. NA. Of course NA isnt end-all-be-all, but its a very good starting point to be sure. Im not cherry picking (you overzealous SOB) I was speaking specifically to the run in NA, not the entire world. WW is pretty much a lost cause for Xbox One. Only an idiot would say otherwise. But if they can get NA (which they will) others will follow due to word of mouth--which I think is also possible. Chances are slim but there's a chance. Calm your ass down...

No. Whats funny is how you dont see how the idea that Microsoft can take NA back isn't possible. Thats funny.

And youre not taking into account that Microsoft had no exclusives ot buzz worthy deals yet still won a month in off-season.

Again, (even though I f***ing hate repeating myself) E3 could be a pivotal point for the Xbox One in North America. With the right game plan, they can take this year. Now. I refuse to argue with you on my weekend. So if you disagree, I'll send you a browny point on Monday and we can call it good. K? K!

What's funny is that I never said MS couldn't take NA. What's funny, is that you can't wrap your head around why using the phrase "the big picture" to critique Val....wasn't nonsensical on your part.

Neither did Sony. What's your point?

Maybe, but that's neither "the big picture" nor does it indicate that Sony isn't "out of the woods yet". Nice choice of words though...pretty funny.

Wow I just read Bestbuy will stop selling xb1!!!

The chances are pretty much zero. They would have to dominate North America to win worldwide and the ship has sailed on that.

Personally I think MS is f***ing up here not getting bundles i.e. Batman bundle and exclusives with Battlefront.

Sony as a company can't afford to take a loss leader position with the PS4. MS, if it chooses, can. Not to mention I believe the Xbox is cheaper cost to build. This shouldn't be a surprise as MS won the U.S. holiday also. Cheaper price, better library of exclusives and better bundles make a attractive value proposition. Now Xbox has a heavy dose of momentum heading into e3 with big hitter exclusives lining up in tbe fall.

It doesn't take a expert to know consoles become cheaper to manufacture and the PS4 been out long enough for this.
So I am quite sure Sony can drop its price.

If idiots are willing to buy a $400 console with no games by the bucket loads, why the hell would they drop the price to only compete against a competitor who allegedly isn't a threat? Sony has no reason to drop the price.

You said if Sony engaged in a price war then something to effect it would be all over for MS in NA. Well:

1. Sony may be able to drop the price for the reason above. These boxes should become cheaper to build as time goes on. However, MS enjoys that same advantage also and its box is cheaper to build in tbe first place. If it's a race to the bottom then advantage MS.

2. Sony is a not in a position as a company to go nuclear with a loss leader strategy. MS would probably not want to down that path either but they have deeper products and its a viable strategy for them if they choose to do so.
