My biggest issue getting thrown into the brig constantly. Too many dickheads playing the game.

Just attempted to go solo and hunted twice by 2 different ships in 2 different instances. That wasn't fun. :)

No. I find that in cooperative games like this, groups of two or three that have mics tend to grief players who don't.
Funny thing is the others were not talking. Don't know if they were in party chat or not. Either way I have a feeling this is going to be a haven for dickheads.

Everyone I've randomly played this game with has actually been pretty cool so far. Must be just good luck? I'm actually buying the game for a couple friends of mine, so hopefully I can play it with people I know, eventually.

Played a bit last night when I got home. It definitely doesn't hold your hand as to what to do. I was lost initially but once I figured things out and got into a groove, I was having a lot of fun.

Can anyone tell us if there's ever a point where you really really don't want to die? In Battle Royale games, of which this reminds me of, there are tons of moments with really high stakes. Does Sea of Thieves capture a similar feeling?

I held off on the beta as they generally turn me off. Congrats to RARE though as it looks like they have a big hit on their hands. It looks like a return to form for one of the more iconic studios in the entire industry. When MS purchased RARE way back it was done for games like this and to cement themselves as a legitimate player in the gaming industry. It’s good to see them back.

Yeah, definitely good to have Rare back in it! SoT looks to be a success!

Just sit it out val- your take is a predictable as the sun rising. You will play it for 5 minutes, say you are out, and then call it name like Sea of Lame.

This is nothing like a battle royale game.

So, I have played for over 6 hours and haven't seen one other person. I thought this was supposed to be a persistent, shared world?

It is. We had a server with at least 2 other galleons and a small boat. Was chased for about an hour.

I think I'll wait till the game is launched and try it out on Game Pass. I'm not a fan of the art style and the animations put me off, not digging it at the moment but perhaps game play will change my mind.

It's definitely not a single player game. You can play it single player, but it is WAY more enjoyable with at least one more crew mate.

People are finding some crazy stuff in the beta. This guy found a feed that has a cool air pocket cave that you have to swim underwater for a while to find it. It's full of tiki states and things like that. Obviously this will be something more important in the full game, but it's still cool to see.

That's pretty crazy. I wonder if the matchmaking wasn't working correctly. It seems the higher level I've gotten with the gold traders, the more people I see. When I first started, I would rarely see other ships. Now that I'm rank 15, I can always count on seeing at least on ship on the horizon, if not more.

Well I finally hooked up with a decent crew and had a blast. Actually had a few ship battles that we were determined to win cause we had 4 chests on board.
