There's an issue with logging in for some members. Working on fixing it. Bear with me. Getting my blood pressure checked today will be fun!

The ones who can still log in are the chosen ones. Bow at our feet!

I am always logged in from my home computer
but I tried logging in from work and I could not
kept saying it was a server issue
I have logged in before, just not today

so not sure if it is fixed.. I will not be logging out from my computer at home

As I said I'm always logged in, the site was very slow earlier and throwing up errors but it's running fine now.

I got a 503 - service unavailable trying to refresh just now.

And what speed do you think this site should be running at?
you can use the firebug plugin for Firefox to measure responses and make sure anything you change does not affect performance

Irony, the site won't load. How many concurrent users do they have at one time? Are the on dedicated servers? Are both the database and the forum software on the same server?

Won't load? Odd. Working perfectly for me. And I have no clue what the answers are to your questions. I don't run that site.

The forum software is as streamlined as it gets. When there's 150 concurrent users trying to access the database at the same time it may take a couple seconds.

Until you can answer those questions you shouldn't say how fast a site should or shouldn't load. There's a bunch of variables, including monetary variables, that can improve speed somewhat. There's also browser issues. Firefox sucks. Unfortunately Chrome, which is blazing, sucks on a Mac and I had to switch back.

No need to get defensive. Just trying to help out by pointing out issues you may not be experiencing or are aware of.

Don't take it personally.

Not taking it personally I'm explaining why sites would load faster. Of course I would want it to be lighting fast but that's not possible right now. On average we have about 150 users accessing the database at the same time. That stresses a DB to the gills unless it's running on a dedicated server. Whenever there's any sort of a hiccup I'm on the line with the host to get it taken care of.

Like I said, I'm just trying to give you a heads up in case there was an issue with the site's hardware/software and you weren't aware of it.

Guess the load times are normal, and understandable.

In fact, that's all you had to say from the start instead of being defensive.
