I know the game isn't called Ass Creed Unity, so I apologize, but there's just something about Ass Creed I get a kick out of.

Anyway, I beat Unity over the weekend. I beat it on Saturday. I then beat Dead Kings on Sunday. It's the first Ass Creed game I played until the credits. I want to say I typically get bored with the games, but I've only played the first one and Black Flag, so I don't know if they're all boring. How many AC games exist? Like 7? I don't know. Man, I really can't think of these games without google. You have AC1, 2, some spin-off game? Another spin-off game? There's the 3rd one. The Vita game. Pirate game. Another pirate game? And Unity. 9 games? Really?

Moving on, first one so boring. Sometimes, if the first game in an eventual series doesn't do it for me, that's it. I'm done. I skip the rest. It happened with Gears of War, and it almost happened with Dead Space. Untenably I've played all the COD games.

After not finishing the first game, I didn't bother again until Black Flag. Which, eventually, I found boring. I bought it because what else was I supposed to get when the PS4 launched? It was even being considered a must-have of some sort on PS4. So, I bought it. I enjoyed sailing around. I like pirates fine. But, the game didn't have a sense of urgency. I just found myself on a deserted island half the time, hunting some animal for no reason. Plus the combat was pretty s***. I've seen that gif of what's his name kicking ass on a pirate ship and I don't believe it.

Unity, for whatever reason, I really enjoyed. And yet, I think I skipped like 60% of the game. Maybe that's why I really enjoyed it.

Countless chests remain shut, numerous quests await, a bunch of other icons just litter the map. Seriously, look at this:

What's even more soul crushing than seeing that map, was seeing that map after just wrapping up Far Cry 4 and Shadow of Mordor.

As shallow as this is, it was the graphics that kept me playing at the beginning. And the middle. I know this game was hammered when it came out, but after an obscene 11 gig patch, the game runs pretty well. Paris? Absolutely fantastic. I really wanted to explore the city. Yeah, a lot of the NPCs looked, well, identical at times, and they didn't always behave in a way that made any sense, but damn it, I loved seeing the streets packed with people. I actually felt like I was playing the game they showed me in the CGI debut trailer:

I really couldn't tell you what the story was about. I inexplicably was in the middle ages near the end of the game. I was taken in enough with the graphics and city to continue playing.

I'm not sure if this is a recommendation post. Doesn't feel like one. I felt like posting about it though because I'm surprised I beat this game. Anyone else play through it? Thoughts?

Maybe I'll give this game a shot then. I also thought the first game was completely terrible and boring. Literally fell asleep whenever I tried playing and when I finally started to progress I realized that I had only just finished the 'Tutorial' section of the game. I promptly turned it off. Maybe it was the second game? I dunno, either way it was the most boring s*** I've seen in my life.

I do own Black Flag and Unity actually, I got them both for dirt cheap a month ago, couldn't pass it up.

funny, this was the first one that i've played and havent finished..... stopped after 4 missions.

AC 1 and Black Flag were the only games in the series I had completed. I couldn't finish the other games as I had gotten bored of them about a quarter to half way through. Unity was no exception.

I've been off and on with the Assassins Creed games. My experiences with the series:

AC 1: LOVED it. Such a technological marvel. I remember when they showed off the gameplay at E3, I literally didn't believe it could run on the 360. Fully interactive open world, tons of characters on screen at one, big draw distance, no loading screens in the city...very impressed to see them pull it off at the time.

AC 2: Bored me to tears, and I thought Ezio was a huge step back from Altair.

AC Brotherhood: fantastic game, a high point for the series.

AC 3: Awful. Really tried to like it too.

AC 4: Became my new favorite game in the series.

Unity: I just can't get into it, but I keep trying. I would return it, but I own it digitally. :(

I played and loved Unity it would be one of my favorite games in the series for sure. The exploration and graphics kept me coming back Paris looks beautiful. And the missions were pretty decent too.

This.

It's funny, this is the first AC game I didn't finish, even with all of the updates it was still buggy when it came to animations using heavy weapons etc. I just got so sick of how sloppy it was I lost interest in the story all together so I traded it in last week. I'm still looking forward to the next AC that takes place in London though, I just couldn't get into this one the way I normally do with this series.

I enjoyed AC2, which was the first AC game I played. I haven't been able to enjoy any of the ones since then, though. I find the historical parts of the game interesting -- wandering around Renaissance Italy was what I enjoyed most about AC2. Wandering around Paris would be nice. It was the setting of the American Revolution that interested me most about AC3. The gameplay itself, though, only held my interest for one game. After that, it just lost its luster for me. More roof-running, more skulking around, more hiding in bales of hay, more climbing of towers. It doesn't help that they keep cranking these things out on a yearly basis.

I thought you were just shortening Assassin to be honest. Game looked meh. Amazing visuals, but I think 3, Black Flag, and Liberation are more interesting as an overall game and piece of storytelling in the AC lore.

The game has too many anger inducing glitches and issues for me to ever finish. I'm on sequence 10 and the story is boring so far to me. Too many gameplay elements from past games have been removed to the point that it feels like this is the first game in the franchise. This is my favorite game series, but I won't be buying the next one unless they fix a lit of the problems Unity has. The game feels unfinished and should not have been released in the state it was at launch.

Yeah, even now it feels unfinished and that's just sad.

Haha wow definitely in the minority here for liking the game, Let me just slip out the room quietly.

I loved the game when it came out last November, but the wave of hate was awful when I defended it. It is still one of my top current Gen games and I smile when I come across threads like this where people gave it a chance and enjoyed it.

Problem with AC 1 & 2 is that AC 2 fixed a lot of the annoying issues with AC1. Personally, I think AC2 is a better experience, but AC1 was a better story

As for the rest in the series.

AC brotherhood - Meh
AC3 - Meh
AC4 - Good
Unity - Price has not come down enough for me to try it out.

I got this game for free and still have yet to put and significant time in to it.

I like it quite a bit. I just got side-tracked by Far Cry 4 which was interrupted by Dying Light.

It is the only game I have that I just... walk around in. I literally walk from point to point, soaking in the atmosphere and details. I like Arno, as well.

Played this last night simply because of this post, actually enjoyed it! Did the sewer assassination mission.

Nice thread. AC: Unity was definitely good. The franchise is played out though. So most people just look past these games now.

So the game hooked me! I accidentally started the dead kings dlc though, so I'm a little less hooked now.

Yeah i seen you playing for a while and had a little chuckle to myself, it can be hard to put down.

Yep. Unity was a good AC game.

AC1 -- Finished. Actually loved it despite the repetitious stupid side-quests. The character Altair is the best assassin of the series IMO.

AC2 -- Finished. Incredible story and awesome intro to 2H weapons and disarming.

AC:Brotherhood -- Finished. My favorite AC game to date. Great story, awesome game play mechanics.

AC:Revelations -- Skipped. Hated the intro.

AC3 -- Skipped. Played most of it but got bored with Connor.

AC4 -- Skipped. Too overwhelming with the sea stuff and no story at all that I was interested in.

AC:Unity -- Finished. Most beautiful AC game to date. Was somewhat satisfied with the combat, but still didn't feel as good as Brotherhood.

I just picked this up the other day since it was (slightly) on sale. It was the graphics and Paris setting that kept pulling at me since launch. Like many others, I have not had success actually completing games in this series, other than the first one. Even with Black Flag, which I enjoyed more than most of the previous ones, I lost steam about 75% through.

I can see it happening with this one too, but for now I'm loving how alive it all feels. Still getting some horrible frame rate dips at times (usually while roof hoping, but not in the large crowds strangely), and a few audio bugs, like the game muting suddenly, but overall really enjoying it so far.

I didn't know you could finish Ass Creed games. Thought you just ran around doing the same things until the soul crushing weight of map icons sent you fleeing, never to look back.

I've enjoyed all Assassin's Creeds games I've played. They're just good games plain and simple.

I finally beat the game after forcing myself through it. I usually do 95% of side missions and collecting in these games, but due to the glitches and frustration this game put me through, I only have around 53% total completion. Unless the next game fixes all of the issues that this game had, I will not be buying another game in the series.

I owned AC2&3 on Xbox 360. I did enjoyed AC2 for what it is (although I did not finish it). I've only played online matches a couple of times on AC3. I actually have thought about getting every single AC series to try and complete all of them. Dunno why. Are they still releasing new AC games, every year, like COD series?
