So I went and bought a Wii U

After coming close to pulling the trigger on the most recent X1 sale at Target (450 Titanfall bundle with 12 months of Live), I went in the opposite direction and bought a Wii U on ebay.

I managed to get a used (like new, or so the seller says) 32 gb Wii U with a Pro controller, a Wii controller, a nunchuck, NintendoLand, New Super Mario Bros U, Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario Galaxy for Wii, and Wind Waker downloaded to the HDD. Got it all for $280.

When it came down to it, there were just more exclusive games I wanted to play for the Wii, with Mario Kart coming out next month, Smash in a few months, and of course, Bayonetta 2. I'm also a big Pikmin fan as well, and Wonderful 101 looks great.

So, Nintendo will be in my home once again after taking a three year absence. Looking forward to it.

Cool man, glad to hear it. You'll probably get more diversity in gaming this way. And that's a nice deal. Let us know your impressions going forward.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I really wanted to play Titanfall and Killer Instinct, but I know the game experiences will be, by and large, very similar to that of the PS4, so I wanted to mix it up. Plus, I grew up as a Nintendo kid.

I'll get an X1 at some point. There hasn't a been a generation where I haven't had all the systems, just now isn't the time.

So, what's up with friends on this system? Do they still have that awful friend code? I want to be your friend, Anderson.
 
Nothing at the moment. Have the new Mario, the old Mario, Zelda, and Nintendoland. That's enough.

I'll pick up W101, P3, and Mario Kart soon.

lol. You can be my friend on PS3 and PS4 (soon), but I don't own a Wii U. Mario Kart sure looks fun, though, and I've always wanted to play through the Zeldas. I may get one eventually myself.

That's a hell of a deal Blue. Have fun man.

Nintendo is pumping out some beautiful looking games right now. I was playing Super Mario 3D land and there was a level with sunken ships, and it was raining and all the surfaces were wet and had water running down the structures and the camera had rain drops streaking down the lens. Really nice.

I don't know when I'm going to find time to play these games. I'm trying to squeeze in FFXIV time with any free time I have, and I still have like 300 battles to fight in Dynasty Warriors. The problem is, if I take a vacation, my wife expects me to do home improvement s***! :confused:

I don't think I've even set up a friends list yet on Wii U. lol

It's my "lounging around the house, not even plugging the system in to the TV, playing everything on the Wii U tablet" console.
Come to think of it. I would love to play my PS4 and Xbox One games on the Wii U pad as well. I just love that thing.
 
I had been down on the GamePad because it was driving up the cost of the system, but I've been using remote play a lot with my PS4, so now that I'm getting to opportunity to do that on the Wii U, I'm stoked. So, yeah, I still think there should be a GamePadless option, but I'm on the GamePad wagon now.

Playing PS4 games on Vita just isn't the same experience. Same concept. Just not nearly as good.

Nintendo can sell me a Wii U with a new Zelda or Metroid. Chances are there will be another price drop for it coming around the holidays. I really do love Nintendo, but damn have they ever seemed really stupid with the way they go about things over the last few years. Its like some people over there just need to be slapped really hard.

Probably a smart move, would have gotten tired of x1 at this point and tf more than likely. No reason to buy into the hype like that when you can play a few more solid titles. Mario kart would be the biggest reason to go for the Wii U imo. Not a big fan of pikmin, nsmb though.

Both of us should be a bit careful, this is a nitnendo board, should leave the x1 out of it.

When is Bayo suppose to hit?

I must find time to finish up Pikmin 3. I quit when Infamous 3 came out and then went on to Tomb Raider PC. Poor Wii has been all alone for a while.

aren't those battles like the other 50,000 fron the past games, well. If you like that, but I'd put work into that

I'll probably end up getting a Wii U before X1 also maybe.... that depends on what's in store for this fall though I'd say
 
Since I bought the Wii U this past weekend my whole family has been having a blast. I'm selling my Xbox One now and won't miss it one bit......

Xbox One is basically the same as last gen, just better graphics, but overall same thing.....

Wii U with Zelda and Marido 3d is so refreshing, love these games. I also own a Ps3 for their great exclusives as well. Xbox One really needs to get some better 1st party games instead of always the same ol fps they pump out. Wii U is an amazing system and I rate it one of the best consoles ever released!

They will not fail you, but holy s*** at the or someone failing me, another xbox thread i can't post in. I really hope I'm not the only one who can't post in the dx12 thread, it's getting incredibly unfair that the people like mcmasters can openly post in there but I can't. Feels like in I'm russia or something. Can we re vote for a new president or something. thank you blue.
