Dying for this game to be revived for the next generation, I think it would do so well with the popularity of card games, the strategy behind each battle...that and the creator wants to make it...I need it guys!
As great as the game was, it was too odd. One, yeah it's technically a card game, but it's gameplay is accomplished through action oriented combat. Not a turn based strategy. Plus, let's be honest here, card games in mass tend to only be popular among die hards and kids. This doesn't exactly have the Magic the Gathering label on it either. Maybe that's the trick? MtG can get these guys to make a game for them. Will say this though, PD was one of the best looking games on the original xbox and still holds up in my opinion. I'll even go so far as to say that it's my favorite Japanese game, at least on the xbox.Dying for this game to be revived for the next generation, I think it would do so well with the popularity of card games, the strategy behind each battle...that and the creator wants to make it...I need it guys!
I doubt it. Didn't the first one bomb and suck at the sake time?
Phil Spencer @XboxP39h
@Wolf23169 I'm a big Futatsugi-san fan. He's finishing Crimson Dragon now. Will have a conversation with him when he's done about whats next
I'll take it.So I knew tweeting tons of phantom dust fans would eventually get them to tweet Phil on a Phantom Dust 2 sequel the pestering has gained a response
a single string of hope but you never know.
WUT?

So i'm just gonna go ahead and guess you've never actually played it.Scores as a 7/8. Only sold 110k world wide. So a so-so game that didn't sell. A sequel is unlikely unless someone is really needing to lose money.

While sales were not good, it still has a very loyal play-base, that alone distinguishes it from most other poor-selling games. There is reason to believe here that past performance is not a predictor of future prospects.Played it, didn't like and I'm a sucker for post apocalyptic games so you guessed wrong. Sales were dismal even with a $20 price point and it's been 8 years since it's release, can't see a reason why they would bother but stranger things have happened.
I think an Xbox Live release is perfect for this title. It could be like another State of Decay, a smaller game that can thrive in the digital environment. A f2p title, as chosenpredator suggested, would be very appropriate for a title like this. It's almost like Phantom Dust was a game made for a time like this.I mean maybe it could come back as a Xbox Live title but no chance of a full blown release. Just MO though so don't get too butt hurt.

A lot of titles fall into that category. For example, Advent Rising which sold 130k units has many people including myself pining for another one the reality is that it will never happen. And do I need to remind anyone of the Shenmue crowd.
Those games had some crazy ass budgets though. Phantom Dust budget was no where near as big.
It's like arguing which is most likely to be captured first, a unicorn or Godzilla. It's been 8 years, it ain't gonna happen.
Godzilla, duh. It's like arguing which is most likely to be captured first, a unicorn or Godzilla. It's been 8 years, it ain't gonna happen.
Who knows? It took Nintendo, the masters of milking existing IPs, more than two decades to come back to Kid Icarus.
