Yes, we saw what happened when the 360 had a 15+ million lead over PS3 in the USA. MS abandoned it to kinect shovelware then created the Xbox One. If PS4 gets a similar lead Sony will probably get arrogant and do the same. Consumers need to rush out and buy Xbox Ones to keep Sony from becoming arrogant.

They announced 5 million in April. I reckon its over 6 million now and maybe even 7 million since they have also released the kinect less SKU since then.They have been VERY quiet since the 3 millions sold.... Come on Larry! Where did all your fun facts go!?
You don't know that. They obviously have some strategy behind why they are holding back numbers. And yeah, I think its reasonable to think they have shipped 1 to 1.5 million between august and April.
Sony doesn't really have the money to be "arrogant" again -- not to say that there isn't any possibility for it to happen.
Does not matter, for their arrogance would pale in comparison to the gamers ignorance.
The 5 million is shipped, never released any details about how many are sold through to consumers which leads me to believe they weren't happy with the actual numbers.
I'm sure they are not happy when they see the ps4 sales. I stand by my estimate though. I reckon it's at least 6 million sold so far. And again, remember the context - it's the second fast selling console in history so even though it's a good bit behind, the sales are still massive
Shipped? maybe but sold through? that's not likely. They reported 5 million shipped in April and then the quarterly report that covered April-June said they shipped 1.1 million Xbox consoles, that's 360 and X1 combined.
I would be very surprised if that was the case, they seemingly over shipped when they announced the 5 million number and after 3 months didn't even ship a million more? they probably still have a bunch sitting on shelves from that original 5 million number.

XB1 is around 4.9-5.1 million sold to consumers right now, definitely not 6+.
VGChartz tends to overtrack XB1 and even they can't stretch the numbers past 5 million right now. They also still have PS4 undertracked by 700k.
