Sony, Once Again, Is Holding Back the Gaming Future

Even as someone who plays a lot of Xbox Live, only uses PS4 for single player and would like to reconnect with former 360 buddies who are now PS4 exclusive...I have no issues with this.
Community drives sales towards ecosystems. There’s plenty of gamers who can afford an X but play all their multiplats on PS4 because that’s where their friends are. Sony earned this competitive advantage by pricing their console $100 less with better performance to begin the gen. It’s unreasonable to expect them to give back that advantage.
Smart of Microsoft to play this up for some good PR but I highly doubt they’d be making this push if they were still in the lead. Doesn’t matter what Spencer says. Microsoft investors would not go for this if Microsoft had the bigger instal base.

Thirdly, this article was written because of Fortnite. The biggest game in the world that, for some reason, the Union largely ignores. An anomaly that will normalize over the duration of 2018.
Look, this is a fun story to talk about but lets not act like anyone here has wanted to play multiplayer games with PS4 owners, well, ever.
What does PlanetXbox have to do with TeamXbox which came out in the year 2000? You don't know us.

I'm MAINLY a multiplayer gamer but think Fortnite gameplay and art style looks like crap.

What was your name at TeamXbox? We have been there from day one. You have been here since Oct 2017. We have been at this TeamXbox replacement site since the DAY it closed and this opened.

As a consumer, you are correct, I have a choice not to buy another Sony product.
Why are you more concerned with what makes Sony money than what is good for gamers. 100% fact, a bigger pool of gamers = greater odds of successful matchmaking.
It's here and now. The fact that you aren't throwing a fit means you just don't care. I really do. I've wanted this since my first online console game. I was there for Quake 3 on Dreamcast, which let you play against PC gamers. I wanted to play against PS2 gamers. Same with EVERY online game after that. The politics kept it from happening. Now you not only have every single player except for Sony onboard, you already have several games with it actually built in! There is just an artificial barrier that is their for Sony's sake of it. Sony never, ever went that far. So, were they blowing smoke? Seems like it.

honestly most people already play where their friends are anyway if MP gaming matters a lot to them.Minecraft was on every platform ever conceived before MS even bought it, they have financial incentive to keep it that way and get as many platforms involved in cross play as possible.
Sony's stated reasoning about them protecting children was BS and just silly, it made them look bad and Ryan should never open his mouth again lol. It's purely for business reasons, it's what THEY think is best for their financial gain which is what all businesses do. Phil Spencer is talking big about cross play right now because it's all about a free to play game, a game MS owns and an indie game. Would he be up for it with all MP games? I've never seen him say that he would be but that doesn't mean he hasn't, I'm genuinely curious about that.

I am not asking for a ban. I was pointing out that Hardline IS banned and has bypassed the ban.
