Star Wars: Battlefront beta impressions

If you want to play the game in HD, get it for the PC no question. Sub-HD on the Xbox One and PS4 will not satisfy your graphical desires. However, if you are looking at community, you can indeed pick up the Xbox One version. The Xbox Live community is indeed the way to go.

Or....the PS4 :)

As with other DICE games, the largest community is on the PS platform. So, if you want visuals, go pc, if you want visuals and community, then go with PS4. If you don't care about either, go Xbox (I kid, xbox will still have a nice community).

well i been going back and forth between the versions and i have decided on xbox. controller is just much better for shooters.

PC is a big no with a controller when there is no aim assist

Well yeah, if you don't have a PC or Xbox, indeed get the PS4 version. You can't go wrong there either. I might get it on both the X1 and PS4, which will be the first time I buy a multiplat game on both consoles since Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

I suspect that with this gen, just like last gen, I'll get most of my mp shooters on console, and play sp games on pc.

I have no shame in admitting that I'm not all that great up against some of those pc players. It's my old man hands.

Or maybe you play less? I think for me, that since I play about an hour or two a week now, vs. 30-40 hours a week 10 years ago, it has changed how well I do in gaming. I feel that if I went back to 30-40 hours, even at 43 years old, I would do well again. But I can't go back there I am afraid.

Probably. I just can't compete against pc gamers that are surgical with the mouse....so I play on console using a xim....where I'm surgical with the mouse against controller user....lol.

Since BF:BC2, I think most of us can agree DICE's games have went downhill a little bit.

I have to agree, that is for sure. Games haven't been the same from them since BC1, BC2, BF:MC, BF2, BF1. Their most recent BF games, 3 & 4 are good no doubt, just not as good as they used to be. BF Hardline is like the PS3's Haze.

You guys need to go back and play some older BF games again, I think nostalgia clouds our memory. BC1 wasn't all that, and BC2 ok, but I wouldn't say better than BF3. BF:MC, I wouldn't even list that in the same league as these newer battlefield games.

BF:MC is probably the best BF game I have played out of all of them. Though I still have hopes that they will react to the demand for Bad Company 3.

Meh, agree to disagree. I think MC was one of the worse (granted, I never played the futuristic BF game, but I played the rest). I also don't think highly of BF:BC1 (although I loved BC2).

BF1942 and BF2 were pretty darn awesome, but I wouldn't say that BF3 or BF4 are worse than any BF game that came before it.

BC2 might be dated for todays standards but it was easily the best BF game ever made.

Maybe, I really like BC2 as well, but it lacked real air combat and the total destruction of paper buildings made the game annoying.
However, BC1 and MC? BF3 is easily better than those.

All good my friend. I guess most of us in the official forums that are relics have been clamoring for the return to the better days. But they don't listen. Just like activision not listening about returning to the better previous call of duty formula.

When it comes to BF games I still think Bad Company 2 was the most fun to play, while I liked BF3 and BF4 I just couldn't get into them as much.

I'm a relic to, and do wish a return to old...just saying, games like MC and BC1 weren't better (imo). So yeah, there were better games before BF3, but not all of them were better.
