Hanging backpack straps...
Is that optional!?

The game will be unplayable if not...

Next you'll tell me that they don't iron their shirts during a zombie apocalypse. Or that it's ok to miss a loop when threading a mismatched belt.

Really, if it gets to the point that you're wearing a brown belt with black shoes, the zombies have won. Throw in a "backpack" with loose straps... And they can't even decide if the shirts are checkered, gingham, or plaid!

Ugh.

At least we'll still have hair driers during the zombie apocalypse.... Right!?

(And incase you can't tell, when people ask me "what weapon do you want when "xxxx" happens" my answer is "none!" I'd rather be patient zero than having to run around a supermarket with a bunch of people fighting over Doritos and toilet paper. I'd raid the chemistry emidiately and go out on a high note.)

Wait, wait... you are saying it's NOT okay to miss a belt-loop?! ...All this time I thought I was just SAVING time...

I'm looking forward to this. One thing that bothers me is the melee combat. I'm fine with it being a bit jank, the problem is all the sliding back and forth on the screen. There's a lot jerkiness to it that doesn't make sense with the animations. I'm sure I'll get over once I start playing though.

Microsoft sent me the code for State of Decay Year One Survival Edition yesterday for those that are wondering when the codes would come out. Looks like it took about 2 weeks? For those that got the Ultimate Edition of State of Decay 2 that is.

I never played SoD 1, and so of course I played a little bit last night. I wanted to see where the complaints are about animations/janky. Sure it's not the prettiest game out there for an indie game, but it's fun so far. I haven't had any control issues yet, but I am early in. Maybe they have been patched a little since SoD debuted?

They patched it a lot. There were some serious bugs in it when it first released. But it got decent support over the years.

So, going by that video, the only new thing is Coop. Doing night time properly isn't really a new thing.

Kind of strange how they don't mention those infestation things, or mention the new human antagonist dynamic.

This one looks alot better presentation wise and visually. It's not The Last of us Two. But it looks pretty good.

After watching more videos, I think it’s fair to say SOD2 has come a ways since the last E3 presentation. It doesn’t look janky. Animations could still be smoother but that seems to be an issue for most Microsoft games. As long as visuals aren’t a negative distraction, I’ll take it. Looking forward to this one.

The IGN playthrough from yesterday is up on their YouTube page. It’s a great watch if you are interested in the game.

Looks cool, but why do all environments look so samey and bland nowadays. We need more deliberate visual design for the environments. I guess that's a lot to ask for an open world game. It's not even about being realistic, as there is plenty of natural beauty out there.

What if the game was open world. Like literary. Our entire world.

WOW, that looks fun.

I never played SoD until last month when I got SoD free with my SoD Ultimate purchase. Sure, it's isn't pretty, but after seeing this video, holy COW have they ramped up the graphics in this game for SoD2. That looks so much more crisp.

I will say SoD2 looks a million times better in person on a nice TV. It's a huge leap from the first game (on the X). I'm even more pumped to get the game now.

Even reading the comments, this has me confused. "Early Access" is a Steam term, isn't it? Similar to Game Preview on Xbox? I assume he means that the SoD2 file has been made available for those who bought the Ultimate Edition to download so that they can have the file ready for their 4 day early access to playing the game, which is May 18.
