The 2016/2017 NBA Season Thread

If you call getting beat out in the Conference Finals taking over, then yes you’re right.

Cavs will tap that Celtics ass ten ways to Sunday. It's going to be almost sad to see his meltdown. If by some chance LeBron tears his ACL this season and the Celtics win the East, the Warriors will sweep the Celtics. A big 3 containing Al Horford, Kyrie Irving, and Gordon hayward...and then a bunch of guys. Many of them 20 year olds. lol.

Just talking smack. Maybe the Cavs will run through the Celts again, especially after adding Wade. People think he can't ball anymore but they're in for a surprise. When you're not the focal point like he was in Miami only good things can happen. All will depend on IT's health.

My X factor this year is Tatum. He looks like the most NBA ready rookie in years and he'll be coming off the bench playing against second string guys. It's scary how much potential he has. Brown should have a break out year as well. This team goes as far as the young guns carry them.

Pretty much. I just think the Celtics are way too young. Obviously with all their assets and young players, if even half those young players turn into stars or great rotational pieces, they will be set up to run the East after LeBron fades in a few years.

Just don't think that time is now.

As for Wade, I'll believe it when I see it. I only got to watch him a little bit last year so I'll take your word for it. If this is the Cavs' final run, I'm pretty much okay with it, although I have no idea where LeBron thinks he's going that gives him a better shot against Golden State. With that Nets pick, I'm okay using that to draft somebody, unless a can't-miss deal becomes available at the deadline that is too good to pass up. But I don't see it.

Should be a fun NBA year, though. I'm going in with zero expectations because, you know, Warriors. Just going to enjoy the basketball. Will be watching a lot of Celtics, I think. I want to hate Kyrie, yet I want to like him. I can't ever forget what he did in a Cavs uniform but it's hard not to feel a little upset that he's now playing for our biggest rival in the East. It's such a bizarre situation, I wish they sent him to Phoenix or something.
