Official Thread The Division v. 2

I was skeptical about their monetization models at first, but it seems ok. There's still a lot of various versions, but overall the base game gives you all you need. Looking forward to trying out the beta this weekend.

Division 1 had one the best monetisation models going.

The only issue this time was stash space, and thankfully they didn't make it mandatory or screw over gamers.

Anything changed from the closed beta to the open beta? I am not going to bother with it if it is the same missions.

I beleive there is one new early game mission. Other than that and bug fixes it is the same.

You can unlock some in game items by playing the beta if you care about that kind of stuff.

am i just being dumb or blind??? in division 1 you could go up to a mission and start matchmaking... now i see no way of matchmaking for missions???

is this something that unlocks later??

Didn't even try with early game stuff. But the end game invaded mission has the Div 1 matchmaking set up.

The first mission is all solo I think, but after you can. Once you get to the White House.

I was able to do it, but I wasn't sure exactly how. On PC it said to hit the F key then I noticed I had an invite from someone. Not sure if that was the matchmaking or just some random group looking for an extra (seemed to be a group who just grabbed me).

I've only played a touch, but I'm quite liking it. Love the slower pace of the Division vs something like anthem and Destiny. I also love the turret- it allows me to play solo and still be able to suppress (well, more like distract) and flank.

Is it as good for a solo player as the original was?

Chem launcher is very good too. Couple it with the airburst ball thing( can't recall its name) and you have some great crowed control.

The chem launcher with a status effect build I can see being popular for PvE.

It should be. You should always be able to level/gear up a little further and get anything done. So far I've found a couple of the beta missions annoying with the bullet sponge enemies though.

I just unlocked that but haven't tried it yet.

I actually quite like the way they did it though. At least you can focus fire on armor bits and blast them off. They seem to go down much quicker after that. It makes firefights or interesting to me to avoid shooting the armored bits. Makes me go for legs and heads...

Gave it a few hours today (finished Crackdown 3 last night) and I enjoyed it, more so the earlier bits. I don't know if it's enough to hook me, especially since I'm not into the looter shooters in general, but it seems like it could be a fun diversion now and then.

Early game is. I did all missions, side missions, checkpoints solo and fairly comfortably.

DZ and endgame is a different matter. Not sure if endgame solo difficulty is because of build or just intentional, but I couldn't do it solo. Maybe it just me, I found they move too much for solo, constantly trying to flank you. You move, go to shoot, they move to flank or to neww cover.

Yeah the DZ area in the first game was pretty much off limits if you were solo as well.

I actually did a lot of solo in DZ in the first game. It wasn't off limits but did require alot of attention to the map. Actually killing A.I in Div1 was actually pretty easy solo, even in the difficult zones. That was mainly due to A.I predictability. In Div 2 that A.I seems less predictable anf thus harder for solo play...atleast based on the small time playing it in the betas.

The new Recalibration system sounds awesome. No more stupid slot machine resource eating crap like in Div 1.

Now you get to transfer over stats or talents from other gear of the same type. Which makes all drops potentially valuable regardless of tier quality or overall stat rolls. The restrictions are intuitive aswell, for example: You can't swap weapon damage with armour because one is offensive the other defensive. With weapon talents they have to be the same slot, so you can swap the 3rd talent with another 3rd talent.

I ghink it is going to be great.

The DZ was easy until you had to extract your gear and the entire map started flashing a giant "come gank me" sign. Even tripping off multiple zones to throw people off didn't work long. Farming the DZ was easy, but getting out was too uncertain solo. All you were doing was farming for others.

People would even follow me around when they knew I had nothing and just make your live miserable.
