While I was grilling for the family yesterday my grandfather was sitting outside with me. We got to talking about different stuff in the news then he got started on Trump.

"Trump has been doing a great job... do you watch Fox News? All those other news stations just make stuff up to make him look bad they are fake. Those damn democrats always putting out lies. He's done more in a month than Obama did in 8 years... everyone in this country just mad Hilary didn't get it..."

Is this real life?

I hope you burned his food! lol

DOH!

He's such a moron. That's EXACTLY what Obama did in 2013.

He went to Speaker Boehner and Senate Majority leader McConnell and stated plainly that if they wanted him to prosecute a war against Assad then Congress would have to give him authorization for it. It appeared that only McCain and Graham had the stomach for it. And Boehner wouldn't even allow a vote in chambers.

The White House was limited to strategic advice, drone strikes and providing limited air support to Syrian rebels who gave Obama all kinds of pause once he learned that they were conducting ISIS style executions of unarmed Syrian government troops. As more videos of these executions continued to surface, Obama would eventually give up on arming and training them as it was becoming clearer that they potentially could become another problem down the road.

Amazingly despite all of the evidence of carnage surfacing, McCain not only continued to insist that the rebels be armed and trained, he even took a meeting with rebels who were known and documented for kidnapping, torture, and executions of unarmed soldiers and civilians.

Oh God people have such short memories!

Oh God people have such short memories!

Who needs memory when they've been reprogrammed to decide if something is fact or fake based on how it makes their preferred position look? #WeHaveAlwaysBeenAtWarWithEastasia

Hmm, I wonder how he feels about this situation now that it's his best buddy doing it instead of the black guy? I also wonder if he'll mention that Trump gave Putin advance notice which allowed him to let Assad know so he could move everything before the strike happened. This was just a smokescreen by an obvious fool.

But Obama was giving taxpayer money to other people, while Trump was giving it to himself, which obviously shows he knows better how to handle money than BO. (Sadly, I would not be surprised for fifteen seconds if I saw someone trying to actually seriously make that point).

“This was a strike that was well-planned, well-executed, went right to the heart of the matter, which is using chemical weapons.”
— Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), April 7, 2017

“I’ve concluded that being credible on Syria requires presenting a credible response, and having a credible strategy. And for all the reasons I’ve indicated, this proposal just doesn’t pass muster.”
— McConnell, Sept. 10, 2013

“These tactical strikes make it clear that the [Bashar al-Assad] regime can no longer count on American inaction as it carries out atrocities against the Syrian people.”
— House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), April 6, 2017

“The best punishment for Assad’s war crimes is for the moderate elements of the opposition to prevail. But the President’s ill-conceived, half-hearted proposal will do little to help. It will make America look weak, when we need to be strong.”
— Ryan, Sept. 11, 2013
