I just came to the realization that Trump is governing the exact same way a noob plays Civilization for the first time.

Should I start with Agriculture, Hunting, Fishing, Mining, Mysticism or the Wheel? Nah, f*** science.

Could someone please explain to me what the f*** is a Holocaust Center ?

It's one stop shopping for all your genocide needs. You've got your gigantic ovens, your gas chambers, your propaganda centers, all under one roof and all at the lowest prices our glorious leader will allow us to sell them to you at. Please note, non-whites, non-Christians and non-heterosexuals may not purchase the equipment, but may still browse the store with the knowledge that they may be compelled to demonstrate the products' utility at any time.

Gerrymandering

I'm just commenting on the video not necessarily to you.

It's very odd to me that there's this idea that you shouldn't have to provide photo ID to vote, or even that there are that many people in the USA who can't provide enough ID to prove they are who they claim.

I'm sorry I guess it's different here but I have a drivers license, a health card, a social insurance card, a passport, a birth certificate and the last resort is showing an envelope that was mailed to my residence.

If I didn't have a drivers license or birth certificate I would feel like I don't really exist as far as being a citizen and wouldn't expect to be able to walk into wherever to vote.

Are there really that many people in America that don't have proper ID and is it really a thing that those people are being denied their rights when they can't even go through the proper measures to prove that they exist as citizens?

Do they have a website and do they accept paypal?

The problem is that both parties manipulate the system to their advantage (see gerrymandering too).

So what if they made a law where I had to show ID to vote? No big deal. The problem is the GOP loves to put these laws into place, months or even weeks before an election, and often targeted specifically towards lower income areas. These laws are specifically targeted to minorities who typically vote Democrat.

Of course all we need to do is come up with some common sense rules, and put them in place far enough ahead of time for everyone to adjust. The whole thing gets political though, as there's an extensive history of people limiting minorities ability to vote.

I think some of the complaint is requiring low income people to find the time and transportation to get to a specific office to get a specific ID and these office branches are often not local.

I'm not sure if even a birth certificate is acceptable.

If it was all online, it would be simple. Some people would have to drive a long way to do it. It's not free. There are a few reasons. I agree in principal that an ID should be showed, but there are barriers to it being fair for everyone. And it's not like democrats are the only ones voting without identification. Republicans would have you think that though.

The problem people don't get is that counting and tracking each and every human being in the US is difficult, time consuming, and costly.

The 2010 census cost $13 BILLION dollars. That's just to get a head count.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_United_States_Census

A state drivers license proves little when it comes to voting status.
Birth certificate? Easily faked. (we couldn't even prove our President was born here)
SSN? Well, that's about the only chance you have to identify someone, and thanks to id theft, we keep those private. No way am I plugging my SSN into some gov't run website.

I don't think people realize how backwards most election boards are. My wife and I have been married for 17 years. She still has to vote under her maiden name from her old address. She fills out the same paperwork every 2 years and every new election year nothing changes.

Voting is a right and you shouldn't have to go through hoops to do it, the government shouldn't be in the business of making it harder for you to exercise that right. If people want an ID to be required than they better make sure they provide transportation to poor people who live in areas where they don't have a DMV near by, that way they can be taken to get a FREE ID that covers them for voting.

This guy speaks the truth, not sure when this was done but I love this video.

Isn't the bolded the problem?

If you're an american citizen are you not forwarded a piece of paper telling you where to vote and then it's up to you to do it?

If you pay taxes in the USA are you not on file and the whole voting practice is pretty much automatic for you, it's up to you to want to get off your ass and go vote?

I guess I'm just not understanding what's going on in the USA with regards to voting and well now I'm wondering about your system of recognizing who is a citizen.

For me it is simple. I receive a letter in the mail that tells me when and where to vote, I pay taxes they have me in the system, I exist, and can choose to get off my ass and go vote, I show them my drivers license at the nearest voting station along with what they mailed me, they let me place a ballot.

What is going on in the USA that people just aren't even on the grid?

I think they can be on the grid, but moving or changing address could invalidate that info in the system.

It doesn't seem like it should be that hard to fix, but I hear updating the specific ID for voting can require inconvenient travels to a specific main branch office and fees.

There needs to be changes to our process, it's insane that we don't have enough polling places in many areas, you get local politicians who actually reduce the amount of polling places to suppress voter turn out etc. That's gaming the system, that's crooked and it's pathetic IMO. Honestly I think we need to change our whole set up, it should either be a national holiday so everyone has the ability to go vote OR it should be done over a period of days instead of just one day. Everyone who votes should get a receipt showing who their votes counted towards, same goes for mail in ballots and I think they should stay away from networked voting machines because that opens them up to hacking, that's why as much as I wish I could I cannot get behind online voting, I just don't trust it being secure enough.

As far as the ID thing, a lot of poor people who have no car or any means to buy one don't get a photo ID, often times they don't live in a place where there is a DMV near by, they don't see the need to travel to one or just don't have the ability to do so etc. I think it'd be a good idea to put a picture ID place in schools, give every high school kid and ID and allow people who live in the community to come get one for free as well. I would think something like that would help make access to ID's easier for poor people who otherwise can't do it.

Other than showing ID, that's exactly how it works. And actually, it does work fine for the most part. The weird part is we don't even have to show the card we get in the mail. I just walk up, tell them my name, and sign the book. The book at least has my name in it, but what's to say I couldn't vote under a neighbor's name? Of course in reality that rarely seems to happen.

The problem is people complaining about voter fraud (but never actually proving any). The other problem is right now would be a great time to improve the system, yet nobody is doing it now. They will wait until months before a big election to do it.
