The Naughty Dog Agenda

I think he posted that letter here because several of us knew what happened over there and have already talked about it in this thread. By the way he wasn't saying anything wrong over there he was presenting a factual argument, yeah he didn't sugar coat it but he wasn't rude either, the mod in that particular thread just didn't seem to want to allow any dissenting opinions.
Thanks for that.

I'll take my obsessive selfe elsewhere.

Because I can't stop my obsession about Andy.

LOL Wasn't telling you that you had to go away, I like you a lot but I think in this thread you seem to be overreacting a bit or at least not looking at what was actually said.

If we banned everyone who made a rude or sarcastic comment, there would be like three people left.

And yes, I'm being sarcastic. :tounge:

You shouldn't have to sugarcoat the truth IMO.

I agree but its not like we are talking about facts. I wouldn't look at that thread as a black and white issue. Not really an important one either. You had a mod who assumed the worst of Andy and allowed to no real discussion but I don't think Andy ever wanted one in the first place which makes him guilty too.

I disagree and saw nothing about his comments in the bc thread as anything but his honest opinion.

Not true. When I made the post, I was ready for discussion and debate. Of course, that wasn't allowed to happen. I was banned within about 5 minutes of making the post.

I wasn't interested in discussion in my email to the admin two weeks later. That was a one-way message, and I don't feel at all guilty about it, nor do I see why I should.

Andy stated a fact and it's one that's easily proven but nobody there wanted to hear it, or at least that particular mod didn't anyway. Much like the wage gap this whole "women make up half of total gamers" is totally misleading. Andy has posted here actual numbers that show what the real numbers are based on the type of games that are played, this whole pandering to female gamers for "more representation" is a bit much IMO. I do think they need to cut out the over sexualizing of women in games and most western devs seem to be doing that, hopefully the Japanese devs get on board with that sometime soon.

People acting like women are delicate flowers that need a man to protect them are the ones being sexist, I've grown up around strong women and never though of women as anything but equal, not better than or worse than men but equal in value as human beings.

It would be easier if you just put me on ignore.

How can one person have that much importance to you? I'm just one guy, for goodness sake.

Again, if that's something you can't tolerate, just put me on ignore. That's what the ignore function is for.

Might be best not to go looking for such things, does it matter what gender belly is? Belly deserves the same respect that we all do, good sir.
It matters as much as it matters that I'm a man, or that my hair is blonde... it really doesn't but it's interesting to know when you get to know each other, I'm painting a mental picture. I have plentiful of respect for women, I have one in my house, she takes care of lots of things here, making dishes and cleaning and such, which I respect.

Uh, no. I'm not the one having the intense emotional reactions to one person. I'm not the one saying the forum is ruined for me by one person. I'm not the one who keeps leaving or threatening to leave the forum because of his reactions to one person. I'm not the one with angry resentment toward one person, which lasts for months. I'm not the one repeatedly complaining in multiple threads about one person's effect on him, how he hates that person, etc..

If you're having THAT level of intense, persistent, negative emotional reaction to one person, just put them on Ignore. That's what Ignore is for. Make your life easier.

I'm not having any of those reactions -- I don't hate him, despise him, find his presence intolerable, have to leave the forum because of him, etc. -- so it wouldn't make any sense for me to put him on Ignore. There's no reason for me to do that.

Yeah, I was making a number of points in that post. Most of them were logical/factual -- most people who play the game will be men; most people prefer to play as men; a male character would be a more realistic choice; women aren't as physically strong as men and generally wouldn't found on the front lines engaged in hand-to-hand combat; Ubisoft would've lost sales if they'd focused their marketing disproportionately on the female character. People can argue about those things, but those are reasonable positions to take, and I can back each of them up.

Of course, even if I had said something untrue or illogical, that still wouldn't be reason for a ban. People make illogical, untrue statements on the internet all day long. In a normal discussion, those statements are disputed, other facts and arguments are brought to the table, and everyone gets closer to the truth -- assuming that's what they're interested in. But of course, if you just shut down discussion because someone expressed an opinion you don't like, none of that happens.

People acting like women are delicate flowers that need a man to protect them are the ones being sexist, I've grown up around strong women and never though of women as anything but equal, not better than or worse than men but equal in value as human beings.

Yeah, I've known plenty of strong women. I've been in relationship with a couple of them, and I work with a bunch of them. They don't need people protecting them from "misogynistic" statements like the ones I made above. They can handle it. If I said that stuff to them, they'd probably nod in agreement to most of it, and they'd probably argue with some of it or have a different point of view. That's fine. That's how conversation works. I think it's very insulting to women to act as if they can't handle this sort of thing. It's very patronizing.

I hope that's not the maid. Be careful...

As long as they don't take out the super beefed up males with (s)pectacular pecs, titanic triceps, brutal biceps, capped delts or abnormous abs, I'm fine.

You seem to have missed my point entirely.

It wasn't long ago I saw you become emotionally bothered by someone on these forums. An issue the ignore button would have resolved perfectly.

Some people don't like looking in the mirror eh?

And you missed mine.

You might try being clear in your speech, rather than beating around the bush. Are you referring to my PM to you to stop hounding me? If so, yeah I got upset with you, because you seemed to go out of your way to argue with and troll me, and I was tired of it. I told you enough, back off. You apologized and acknowledged that you targeted me because you saw me as alpha at Union (which is silly, but whatever; I've learned that people project stuff on to you when you're a mod, especially if they have, let's call them authority issues).

And I'm not putting you on ignore, because you're a known troll with multiple permabans and a list of aliases as long as my arm.

"Some people don't like looking in the mirror" -- that's rich, coming from you.

Lol, well that's certainly one side to the story. You can spin it, and apply excuses all you want, but the facts remain.

You've gotten emotional on these forums.

The ignore function would have done wonders for you.

Kettle, meet Pot.

Are you being intentionally dense? There's nothing wrong with having an emotion.

There's an obvious difference between 1) having an emotion like anger and using it to set boundaries on someone trolling you, and 2) being so overwhelmed by anger, hate, and resentment that you repeatedly have major meltdowns, blame one person relentlessly for your inability to feel comfortable on a videogame forum, hold on to a grudge over a series of months, and have to leave (or threaten to leave) repeatedly because you find that person's opinions so hateful and despicable, you can't stand it.

That's a big difference. If you can't see it, I don't know what to tell you.

The proper response, if you're in the latter camp, is to put that person on Ignore (which is where I think I am at the moment). It helps your blood pressure and makes your life easier.

Yeah, there's a difference. Just like there's a difference between a Kettle and a Pot.

The key item here is that both you and Belly allow people on message boards to influence your emotions in a negative way. This baffles me.

Your reactions may be different, but you both succumb to the same pressure.

Everyone needs to lighten up!

Yeah men in games have almost unrealistic bodies a lot of the time too but making women with gigantic breasts that bounce and dressing them in the absolute minimum is a bit much, hell MGSV had one of the most embarrassing characters I've ever seen in Quiet.

So.... have we agreed on the question regarding naughty dog having an agenda, and if so, what is it?

I ... have no idea. We've drifted so far off topic, I can't even see the shoreline anymore.

She did give us an easy mode though, having her sniping with a silencer pretty much broke the game lol. Breast do bounce though and I'm thinking having less clothes do give room for better movement. If anything we should salute devs like team ninja for giving us a realistic picture of how women physiques act in combat situations. Honestly they should have bouncing testicles on the men too, imagine t-bagging with that type of animations.

Those bouncing testies you speak of, I believe Red Ded may have you covered when released ;)
