Its that time again to get a new car, & its a pain. Since I am a cheapo & buy only used cars, to get the car with spec and option lists at the right price I want is a pain especially that the model I wanted ( BMW M135i Xdrive Steptronic) isn't as common as the garden varieties. I have to travel long distance to test drives, & only weekend, & Sunday is an off day here.

Went for a test drive last weekend, & the car missed 2 marks. It has the smaller Navi package, 6,4 inch instead of 8,8" (which is about 1800 price upgrade option), & it doesn't come with a set of Winter tire/wheels. I took a quick look at BMW website & a set of winter tires/wheels will set me back an additional 2000 bucks or so. The dealer did said he can get me a set cheaper, but that's extra cost of course on top of sticker price.

Would have been easier if not that now is considered Winter time for tires,. & I can drive out & look for a set of tires wheel for winter later at better price. Its also possible I get tires/wheel separately then took it to the dealer & install before I drive off. Comical, but possible.

But I prefer to save the drama & get the car already have complete Summer/winter sets.
Now, I did a LOT of research before I bought my newest car. I'm talking, hours, clicking through pinterest.

And after all that research, I chose a black one.

As for the winter wheels and summer wheels... I had no idea there were different kinds.

In Germany, & most European nations

It is a requirement to have winter tires fitted in the Winter. In some nations there is a fix time, but in Germany, there is no hard time to fit winter tire or take off. The rule of thumb is October to Easter (Generally half the year). If you have an accident in Winter, & you do not have winter tire fixed, the insurance can refuse to pay you. There are however, no rule that said you cannot wear winter tires in Summer, so lazy people ( & I am guilty as well this year) wear winter tires all year round. However the traction is not as good, they wear fast in summer heat.

There is technically no difference between summer wheel (as in the metal rims) & Winter rims, but normally you wanted to have thinner (Width) wheels for winter. The main reason however people have 2 complete sets of wheels (Summer set & Winter set) is that is is more convenience to change the whole wheel (rim +rubber) then to take out the tires & replace them, which you have to do in a garage (need to rebalance the wheels). But if you are lazy, again, many garage & dealer will store the alternative set for you, so for a fee, you can drive in & they do the hard work. That's the power of money. I bet with enough money, they babysit your kids & as well.

I watched a lot of review & impression videos of Youtube, because we know people do not don't lie on Internet, before I decided upon my next car. Then more research on things like best petrol type, compatible oil type, & how to connect iphone to play music. All before I got the car.

Anyway, tomorrow I am getting my car, blue BMW M135i steptronic (Automatic) with F1-wannabe flappy steering wheel shifters, Ipad like Nav display unit that cost almost 10x the price of actual ipad, & some other overprice options.

Would you rather wear some random dudes dirty underwear, or use a mystery toothbrush?

You can't examine them before you pick an option.

On a grand scale of things, I rather wear an unwashed Taylor Swift granny panties.

If I have to pick, with a gun over my head, I will take the risk of balls rashes, over possible poisoning or tooth decay. I will flap the underwear though.

8,500 people have gone to hospital here in Melbourne due to respiratory issues from a thunderstorm... I've never heard of a thunderstorm causing pollen to explode before. Weird

I don't think it's law in many European countries. Certainly recommended though.

I did not do the count, but I belive its the law in the Nordic, & Apline countries also. The recommended driving speed for winter tires is lower though at usually 210km max. (we have unlimited speed motorway)

They worry I forget, so they pasted a small sticker with 2010 max on my windscreen. Not that it matters as I drive like a granny anyway & hardly exceed 150km/h, which I (& many people) question, why I get a car with over 300hp & top speed limited to 250km/h?

But I told them, the price different from the sub 150hp & 326hp version is like 6000€, so might as well top up & get the faster one. Its also better equipped.

The Shifty emoji is too close to the Like emoji. My fat fingers keep hitting the wrong icon.

If you've ever hummed Billy Joel's 'Uptown Girl's in public, you're a terrible person.

A terrible, terrible person.

Guess I'm going to do Truck Driving again.

At least I'm getting setup with a good truck this time. A 2015 Freightliner Cascadia.

Finally, 1.5 weeks after getting my car, the weather finally warmed up above freezing, & I finally took my car for a wash.

I loaded up all my big guns of detailing to go to the ...*wait for it* auto car wash!

To be fair, One of the main aim was to clear the underbody of road salt & other contamination before the car go into hibernation mode ( I will be off to Holiday for a month, & car will park at open air carpark), so auto car wash was the way to go, as they have underbody wash. I paid extra 2 bucks for the foam wax (which is like wash & wax type), to a total cost of 10€.

As expected, the wax was underwhelming, & needed to touch up due to uneven coverage. but you get what you paid for I guess. For 10 bucks & free use of the sheltered (but not heated) cleaning garage with valcuming hoses, you cannot complain.

I brought the pretty expensive Chemical guy Jet seal (never used before, only seen reviews) & more reasonable priced Meguiar's quik wax, & never used them, as car already waxed. I will do a more detailed detailing after winter.

By the way, I am not a fan of the dark tinted windows, but it came with the car, & I am not wasting time to remove them. An eyesore, but liveable.

The #1 illegally downloaded movie right now is called...

The Accountant.

...The Accountant is the #1 movie to pirate...

I have never hated the world as much as I do right now.

Even piracy is boring! Do you have any idea how long it's been since I've had an STI?!

Everyone is so safe and boring!

I'm going to end up in a relations*** with someone who watches sport and comments on fuel economy on their prius. They'll enjoy using a "grill" to cook food we will "eat"... f***.

Once upon a time, you had to worry about your safety when meeting randoms online.

This is the end. I'm becoming one of those middle aged people. Make it end!!!

I took the blinds off my bedroom windows a few hours ago and all I want more than anything that has ever existed right now is to own windows that have blinds.

Lifehack.

If you own a hooded jumper, wear it backwards, and fill the hood with popcorn. Then you just have to dip your face for a snack, instead of all that extra effort of lifting your hands.

Well, I'm really truck driving again. This is a crazy job, but I'm making some money.

At least I've dodged the worst of the Winter Weather so far.

Hoping to just save up and move out of Michigan lol.

Do the trucks around Detroit have tail gunners?

If you have the brilliant idea of putting rose petals in a bath... Don't.

Some douche thought it would be romantic, and I'm the one left with the cleanup job.

It's a pain in the arse, and then you have to pick the petals out of the drain, the water makes an even more terrifying noise as it goes down, and if you don't pick them up straight away, they dry and stain the tub.

I'm saving nearly $5 per month on my electric bill by switching from plasma television to led.
