Good to know. I'm eager to see some gameplay vids soon. Would REALLY love to see some more cyberpunk info but that is neither here or there...

New gameplay is always wanted and appreciated. I'm sure we will get a combat feature trailer sooner or later. One thing I am wondering, will they release the redkit for console too ? cause that would be awesome.

I think we'd have to see a real push for user created content from consoles in order for the redkit to be enabled on consoles. The problem is, big companies do not see any direct compensation from mods, hence the closed system of the consoles themselves. Every bit of post-released content has to be calculated into the bottom line. Crowd-sourcing is an anomaly most publishers try and steamroll. If Joe-shmoe could create a better map pack (and can), and offer it for free, why would anyone pay for new content if users can do it better for cheaper?

Big publishers FEAR these smaller content creators and flock to consoles that have a closed-ended system. The dev-pub relationship is evolving due to kickstarters and etc... And this is a good thing.

I would LOVE to see mod tools on consoles. Unfortunately the ecosystem just does not permit these things to exist on such closed systems.

The combat isn't like the Arkham games. They Just thought it was a cool system and used it as inspiration to smooth out their own, often disjointed and rough, combat system. So we should get smoother transitions from enemy to enemy, and better flow to the overall combat.
That is what I'm hoping as well. Putting an exact replicate of Arkham combat would probably ruin the game IMO, but getting some inspiration from it would definitely be ok.

Damn it I just finally beat W1 not that long ago after stretching it out over about a year. It was a decent game but dated by the time I got it. I bought W2 for about $5 on Steam so some day I'll get around to it.

Hopefully that's it. I didn't have any problems with the combat personally. For my money, it was one of the better ones you could play. Either way it'll probably be a great game one way or another.

The thing I read about how they've been inspired by the Arkham game's combat is that they wanted to get away from the lock-ons, so there should be more seamless enemy to enemy combat rather than the stilted, clunky combat from witcher 2 (never played W1, so can't compare that one...)

Good.

Aw man. I can't wait for this game. It's going to single-handedly justify the purchase of a next-gen console. And on top of that, there are likely to be boobies in this game.

 can never go wrong with boobies.

I agree though. The game sounds as if it will be pretty awesome. Lets just hope it doesn't slip 2014 and end up a 2015 game.

I saw this on neogaf, new write up on The Witcher 3, most of it is old info but some of it is new, damn I can't wait for this game.

Interesting read. I liked hearing about the new potion mechanics. With the old way, I hardly ever used them, because I didn't want to end up wasting them.

They stated, “The potions will work in a different way than in The Witcher 2. So now you will prepare them, you will drink them before a fight, but you can release the effect of those whenever you want. So it’s not like you’ve drunk the potion and you have 30 seconds of boost and then it wears off. You can start the fight in the moment it suits you, and if the fight proves hard, you can just release the effect through your metabolism. But if the fight is easy, you can preserve that and use it in the next fight.”

Yeah it sounds a lot better, I only used potions in the Witcher 2 when it was forced by the game to defeat a certain type of enemy or to search for something otherwise I pretty much ignored them.

In the third part of The Witcher we wanted to get back to the roots of the profession, so hunting monsters will play a much bigger role than in the previous parts.

“The monster-hunting quest mechanic is something we’re really proud of.”

Rather than the simply finding a creature, killing it, and reaping the rewards Kwiatkowski explains the more in depth process.

“As you know, the world of The Witcher is filled with different creatures, some of them being really dangerous and in a totally different league than most warriors that would want to challenge them. Geralt can find these monsters on his own or get contracted to kill them by other characters.

“Each monster has its own story that enroots it in the environment it lives in, and some are even worshiped as local deities. If you find such a monster, the first thing you need to do is to determine what kind of beast it is. Then, after carefully examining it, its habits and so on, you determine its weak points. Finally, you go for the kill and collect your prize.”

Because this process is one that actually requires thought and investigation, Projekt RED believes that players will feel more fulfilled at the end of a hunt.

Im buying my X1 for Titanfall, but the other two reasons im excited to be getting one is for The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition. These two games are the two that im looking most forward to. I just pray they both come out this year without any delays.

1080p/60fps or no buy.

lol

Pretty much this for all games here on out. If it's not at least 60fps, I'm not bothering with it. RYSE is my last 30fps experience.

I bet you break this by years end :D

I doubt it. I have played Forza 5, RYSE, Dead Rising 3, BF4, Halo Spartan Assault, and Killer Instinct, all on the X1. I can't stand DR3 and RYSE any longer. They're being traded for TF. As for BF4...it dips below 60fps in so many situations, it's starting to be a sore on the eyes.

I can't stand blurriness in my games. RYSE has great graphics...yes...but how can you enjoy them if looking around in the game or simply turning the camera in the game makes everything except your character a complete total mess of blurry 30fps junk?

I do not care what you guys said, if next gen consoles cannot run this at 1080p at least a stable 30fps, I am going to put my money on a new rig to play this at 1080/60 and high settings.

Agreed. this will be the game to make me upgrade my gfx card!

And yet, the game will be no less awesome on X1 and PS4 in spite of their lesser graphical capabilities. For example, the Witcher 2 was absolutely awesome on the Xbox 360 in spite of not hitting the graphical heights of the PC version. It was the same experience overall. Same great game play, story, and was in no way a lesser game.
