Hey guys I have yet to play a Witcher game but completed Skyrim, well most of it. How does this series compare in terms of combat, Quests, leveling up, and looting and such?

And yet, the game will be no less awesome on X1 and PS4 in spite of their lesser graphical capabilities. For example, the Witcher 2 was absolutely awesome on the Xbox 360 in spite of not hitting the graphical heights of the PC version. It was the same experience overall. Same great game play, story, and was in no way a lesser game.
Well, I had Witcher 2 on xbox 360. Even visual aside, it was more choppy, a slide show at some points (especially at the beginning). I was so bad I actually search the internet to see it the slideshow fps happen often throughout the game. Thankfully it's not. The main reason I bought the xbox version is I heard the game play better using a controller, & I do not want to buy a controller for my PC (then).

Anyway, back to what you said.

I will say, you can enjoy Witcher 3 on any platform it is available, but for the best experience, to paly the game at its full glory you will have to play it on good PC,
Its the same as saying you can enjoy the <insert your favorite blockbuster summer movie here> at home, but for the best experience, you have to watch it at a good cinema. I will not stop anyone who prefer to wait for the DVD/netfix release of the movie.

In a nutshell, my point being, one can obviously enjoy a game no matter the setting, be it played on 14" TV, or 50", surround sound, or mono TV speakers, on console with lower visual setting/fps, or high end PC with full setting/smooth 60fps.
However, one must also recognise that experience can be greatly enhance (in many ways) even when the core of the game is the same.

Experience enhancement obviosuly subjective, for some, its palying on a crouch, for others on a big TV with surround sound, for some, smooth FPS, some max out visual. There is no model answer. but wd cannot dismissed that game experience can be enhance.

It's definitely not Skyrim. Previous Witcher games have been more linear, and the combat requires more skill/patience. I do believe in this one though the game is supposed to be a lot more open.

I do not care what you guys said, if next gen consoles cannot run this at 1080p at least a stable 30fps, I am going to put my money on a new rig to play this at 1080/60 and high settings.

Rumor is the X1 version is 720p and the PS4 version is 900p but they are trying to get to 1080p with it.

I doubt it. I have played Forza 5, RYSE, Dead Rising 3, BF4, Halo Spartan Assault, and Killer Instinct, all on the X1. I can't stand DR3 and RYSE any longer. They're being traded for TF. As for BF4...it dips below 60fps in so many situations, it's starting to be a sore on the eyes.

I can't stand blurriness in my games. RYSE has great graphics...yes...but how can you enjoy them if looking around in the game or simply turning the camera in the game makes everything except your character a complete total mess of blurry 30fps junk?

TF isn't a solid 60 fps, when you get into the titans it drops down to around 30 according to DF.

OK thanks for the input. Not sure its for me but would like to try another RPG ans the Bethesda games are the only ones I have tried outside of Fable series but those weren't a full blown RPG.

Witcher 3 release date is February 2015.

Release Date of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – An Open Letter

Ever since we started working on the third installment in The Witcher franchise, it has been our aim to produce a title that would take our 11 years of experience in creating RPGS and distill them into a quintessence, into a game that would effectively crown those years. At the same time, we have wanted The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to expand creative boundaries, set new benchmarks, develop the genre as a whole. Ultimately, you, the players, must get an unforgettable adventure to experience in a vast, open world – and that’s most important. We’ve created a story that flows naturally, cinematically, rendered it in amazing sound and visuals, while preserving full freedom of choice – all for you. We knew this to be an ambitious plan, but believed we could achieve it by bringing together our team with its creative energies and current gaming platforms with their technical capabilities. A project this vast and complex would inevitably require special care in its final stages, manual fine-tuning of many details, thorough testing time and again.

We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game’s final release date. The decision we made was difficult, thoroughly considered, and ultimately clear and obvious. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us. Consequently, we have set the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for February 2015.

Dear gamers - we know many of you would have liked to play The Witcher 3 sooner, as soon as possible, even. We’re sorry to make you wait longer than you, or we, initially assumed you would. At the same time, we believe the game will prove to be worth the wait and meet the expectations you have of us. We believe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be an exceptional RPG, one of the best, providing many hours of wonderful entertainment.

Dear shareholders – we are aware of the responsibility that rests with us and thank you for the trust you have granted us thus far. We firmly believe that quality – more than any other factor – determines a game’s success, and that the decision we have made is thus equally valid in business terms.

Was just going to post the news about the delay, I think a lot of us probably figured it would happen but hoped against it. I just pre ordered the game too lol. Oh well I'd rather they got it right than rushing it out but damn another 11 months :(

Hope Dragon Age doesn't get delayed too, or else we will go the year without an Epic RPG.
If that does get delayed we could possibly be seeing Witcher 3, Dragon Age, The Division, and Fallout 4 in the same year. The epicness may be too great there.

Sad news about the release date, but I guess that allows me more time to enjoy the late summer/holiday offerings of all the other studios before immersing myself in Witcher 3.

Nothing scientific, but what happens is Bioware always misses the big matchup. Either their game gets delayed or the competitor does. The Witcher 3 gets delayed, Inquisition is likely on track.

I am also inclined to believe that industry insiders who made this decision might have heard something about how DAI is coming up together, but I know I'm being too hopeful on this.

They can take their time, I'm going to be basing my next PC build off of this game that will likely last me a while.

I am fine with the delay. The game is shaping up to be a beast on PC. By then, I'll have a new setup ready to be devirginized by Geralt.

Would have been awesome if they could have had ported the Witcher 2 to next gen consoles, it would have helped with the wait along with introducing the series to people who didn't play it on 360 or PC.

So Witcher 3 2015.... so their Cyberpunk game = 2016.

No doubt in my mind Sony and MS pay off some of these devs to promote a game early both fully knowing there is zero chance of it launching on time. But hey, that's marketing for you.

This delay really blows. TW3 was definitely up there with my most anticipated for this year. On the upside, the delay will most likely make for a better game when it finally is released.

Im ok with the dealy. It will ensure the game is as good as it can be. That and there will be plenty of other stuff to play this year.

Cyberpunk 2074 release date is TBA. I say it is at the very least 2017.

There are two separate teams. CD Projekt Black is working on Cyberpunk, while Red is working on TW3.

So with the Witcher 3 being delay, what games can we look forward this year?

I don't think there's any chance The Division will come out this year.

In my opinion, Destiny will be the game to get this year. I'd say it has a very good chance at winning GOTY as well. I can't friggin wait for that game. Also gonna throw out Evolve as having the potential to be a beast (pun intended).

I don't know why it became so cool to hate on Watch Dogs, but it looks infinitely more interesting than any of the recent Ubisoft games of the last 5 years. I was wary at first but now I just have that 'this is mine' feeling all over it. Other than that, well, why isn't Dragon Age Inquisition coming out already?
