I didn't feel as if there was much "romance" to the game at all, much less than even your standard Bioware trysts. Maybe I missed some juicy sex scenes or something. I got a lot of snarky banter with Yen, but that's about it.

Combat was pretty simple. I used Quen, dodge, and quick strikes (occasional long) on 95% of the encounters. Sometimes I'd use Axii or Yrden, but I hardly ever used bombs, the other signs, oils, or potions -- just on a few of the tougher fights. I was playing on normal difficulty, and I'm sure higher levels of difficulty would demand different approaches.
Awww, got no game, eh? I bedded Yennefer, I think it was 3 times :D

Just to clarify about the 'romance', I meant to say you are force to pick who you end up with before even having a chance to get to know them.

If you follow the quests base on level, chances are you be like me, you will be doing the Triss 'romance' quest (Now or Never) before even meeting Yen in Skellage to do her romance quest (The last wish)

You had like 5 minutes with Yen before you met her the second time in Skellage, there is no way one can made an informed choice at all. Its just poor design in pacing.

The 'romance' quests should only be open up after you done sufficent main/side quests involving both ladies, when you get to know them better.

Yeah, I probably should've been nicer. I told her off every chance I got. She dunked me in the lake. I found that funnier, I suppose. Guess I'll have to get my vicarious sex elsewhere.

Yeah, she will read your mind, and 8 you do anything with Triss, she will know! She genuinely cared for Geralt in my storyline, and at the end
they lived together to the end of their days

Yen looks too mannish. Better than I could do, though.

As for yen, I think we have to wait for final coloring to see. Hopefully, hse will be less manly.

Also, I find difficulty to fitting in Gerelt into the workpiece.....

You do know Yen is a century old Soceress right, She is much older than Gerelt.

Yeah, I had the sense that she was ancient. I didn't know she was older than Gerry, though. Looks pretty good for her age.

Yennefer of Vengerberg was born on Belleteyn in the year 1173. She is a sorceress, and once resided in the capital city of Aedirn. She is the youngest-ever member of the Council of Sorcerers, and was later a target recruit for the Lodge of Sorceresses. She was and is romantically involved with Geralt of Rivia, and has served as a mother figure to his ward, Ciri. The lady of Vengerberg is famous for her beauty, beauty which has remained despite her stated age of 94 years (as of the events of The Tower of the Swallow.) She is well known for wearing black and white clothing, and using lilac and gooseberry perfumes. She has remarkable violet eyes and raven black hair, and is a quadroon of Elven ancestry (meaning her blood is ¼ elven).

94, eh? Here she is without her makeup:

Easy, put him behind the ladies with a "what do think I'm doing with my hands right now" posture, and a pervy face.

Much better. You got talent.
Thanks.
I have the most issue with hair. I cannot find a good solution for fast & nice hair.

Anyway, only for info, it took far longer to color than to ink (outline in black) the characters. The clothings is easy as I use pretty such flat color, the skin though took a lot of effort. I think I took 2.5 hours on coloring Yen face alone.

But I think I am getting better. I did not have a lot of experience with the software Clip studio paint, which I used, but I found new great tools as I exploded. Its just blows Photopshop out of the water in price (40€ ownership, vs 12€ monthly from Adobe) & in tools for painting & inking. One of the best purcase decison I made. I have photoshop as well, as its the industrial stanadard & I need to use it for other purposes.

Anyway, I will be doing Triss tonight.

Edit: Triss almost done

I'm still playing the Witcher. I thought I would stop after the main quest and a few remaining sidequests, but I kept going. I've done nearly all the question marks in the Velen/Novigrad area, and now it's on to Skellige. I probably won't do them all, but who knows. I've pretty much run out of worthwhile skills to upgrade, but I'm leveling up so slowly, it doesn't matter (at 36 now, I think).

I find it sort of relaxing to run around the world, overpowered, dealing with the question marks. They were a little more tedious before, partially because I was doing them at Level 7 or 8, so half of them would be too powerful for me, and I'd get annoyed at having travelled that distance without accomplishing anything. Not that I'm accomplishing much now, but at least there are no wasted trips.

As I make the rounds, I uncover more quests, so I've got a handful of those to do, too. A lot of Skellige's question marks are in the ocean, and I'm not so crazy about those, so I may leave a bunch of them undone. We'll see.

I gave up on all of the diving stuff in Skellige. If the controls underwater weren't so iinfuriating, then perhaps I would have gotten more of them.

I might stop with the sea-based question marks, too. After doing a dozen of them, it felt sort of pointless -- fend off the cliff racers sirens, swim around collecting the loot (which was often in the same configuration), then, after a while, exchange the loot for money that is essentially worthless. I get negligible amounts of XP. I haven't found any additional quests, and I'm pretty sure there aren't any Places of Power underwater. I can't see any benefit to it.

I did see a whale, though. That was pretty cool.

I totally stopped the Skellige stuff that was in water. Risk not worth the reward.

Nice work. Poor Geralt, does all that work, then gets relegated to the back row.

I didn't get attached to any of the characters in this game. They all made an impression, but I didn't come to have any real affection for any of them. Maybe Siri, a little bit.

I'm doing the question marks because I want to spend a little more time in the world. Most of them are just bandits or monster nests, but occasionally you'll come across a big underground cavern, an additional quest, or a Place of Power. There's a minor sense of satisfaction in the exploration, too.

Ok, all done with the question marks, at least the ones on land. I've leveled as far as I can go, but on the very last question mark, I ran into a beastie who was about 10 levels higher than me. Killed me with one swipe of her claw. Damn.

I've got three or four side-quests to do, and I'll be finished up.

I've got to hand it to the game, some of these sidequests are really surprising. I put off the Apprentice in Alchemy sidequest for a long time, because I figured it would be boring, and I don't use alchemy much. I just finished it, and it was really entertaining. Most alchemy sidequests have you running around picking flowers and herbs. This one had you battling monsters, tracking people with your Witcher senses, and other fun stuff I won't spoil, for those of you who haven't played it. It was hefty sidequest and a nice break from the standard RPG tropes.

I started a new game before completing the story with my first game. Is that weird?

I've started RPGs over many times, although usually within the first few hours, realizing I've created the wrong type of character. I don't think I've ever started over after about the 5 to 10 hour mark, though.

Well, to change the subject from starting to finishing, I believe I'm finished with The Witcher 3, at least until the expansions.

I left all the following stuff undone: question marks in the Skellige sea, gwent quests, fist fighting quests, horse racing quests, a half dozen treasure hunt quests (tired of looking for merchants who have more than 300 coins, in exchange for money that is pointless), and two glitched quests. I did everything else, though.

Very good game. GOTY so far. Spent two or three months with it.

I spent over 30 hours and then started a new character. Reason is I got occupied with other games for a good while and put Witcher 3 on hold. So I now I've lost track of what's going on and feel the need to start fresh and do things differently.
