There's a new "like" system.

I never wanted to add a dislike button for the reasons illini stated. I really can't see any positives that would come from it, only negatives and it would create more hostility which isn't needed nor wanted.

Facebook DOES need a dislike button though. Can you add that? :)

I'm not a big fan of the new like system. It was good the way it was in my opinion. Good call getting rid of "Winner" though as that's overkill. Don't think we really need a "Like" and "Agree" button as they're really the same thing. I'd keep "Funny" as a way of expressing that someone's post is actually funny or a complete joke. It'll be used as the "Dislike" button more often than not for me. :D

I think agree and like are very similar too TDbank24.

I think liking a thread and agreeing with what is in the thread are two totally different things

Liking the thread or liking a post in the thread? Chances are if you like a post it's because you agree with it? Or maybe you can fill me in. Either way it's all clutter to me.

If anything i'd think just an "Agree" and "Disagree" button would make more sense. If you disagree with someone's post that's life. If you dislike a post you could just be doing it out of spite. Disagreeing comes across much more courteous to me.

Okay, i don't even care. I need to go to bed. G'night.

I could like a post but not agree with it. For example, say there's some bickering going back and forth in a thread. One side X1, the other side PS4. I'd be more inclined to agree with the X1 side of the argument because that's the console I own and have somewhat of bias towards it. However, the PS4 arguer might come back with a good one liner or something like that. I would say to myself, wow that post is clever even though I don't agree with it. "Like".

Yeah, and conversely, someone in the "opposing camp" could make a good point that deserves acknowledgement ("agree"), even though you don't like it.

Same with people or opinions in real life -- we can agree with them without liking them. And vice versa.

Yeah, i get what you mean. I guess i was just thinking the whole like or dislike system is more of a popularity contest that gets abused but i know liking something and agreeing with something are two totally different things. Keep it the way it is then. It's fine.
