I haven't played since they changed the matchmaking, hopefully they fix this soon.

I've haven't played it much either but that's mostly because of Dark Souls 2. Although the crappy match making is not enticing me back either.

Very nice for 360 owners. Pretty much the same game in terms of gameplay except with lowered visuals but in general the game is not a looker anyways so pretty much a moot point.

It's pretty evident now that MS wasn't promoting the 360 version at all because they wanted to push more XB1 sales of the game.

Let's begin with rendering resolution. The Xbox One version ships at 1408x792 with 2x multi-sampling anti-aliasing - a sub-native presentation for a console aimed at the era of the 1080p display. There are few surprises with the Xbox 360 version, which adopts a strategy similar to the Call of Duty titles on older Microsoft hardware. There's a 1040x600 native resolution here, backed up by 2x MSAA. It's a set-up that allows Bluepoint to cram the framebuffer into the 360's 10MB of eDRAM, effectively allowing it to use the hardware anti-aliasing for free with no performance penalty.

By default, the game ships with an unlocked frame-rate - but capped at 60fps. In effect, the game is constantly tearing unless not much is going on, whereupon it locks at 60fps - this occurs for pretty much the entirety of the extended initial training, but sees considerable variation in-game. This is clearly the preferred default from the development team, and offers the fastest-possible controller response at the expense of consistency - both in terms of input lag and frame-rate.

If the screen-tear, inconsistent frame-rate and varying controller response is too much for you, Bluepoint has offered up an alternative - the ability to lock frame-rate at 30fps. This all but eliminates screen-tear and introduces more consistency to the controller feedback but does so to the detriment of overall frame-rate. Each mode has its advantages and disadvantages and it's good that gamers can choose what suits them.

There are times when the game feels uncannily close to the Xbox One version (especially during the less taxing training session) and across the entirety of the clips measured above, we end up with a 46.5fps average - not bad at all. However, different levels exert varying degrees of stress upon the engine, and as you can see from the analysis, performance is variable, perhaps explaining the "above 30fps" marketing. That said, frame-rate does creep below on rare occasions (similar to Xbox One, we can see the odd freeze - a small clutch of duplicate frames) but there's nothing game-breaking.

In summary, after a day with the Xbox 360 game, the big takeaway here is that this is Titanfall, and it does appear to be feature-complete on the older console. With just one tenth of the available RAM and far less capable silicon, it's safe to say that Bluepoint Games has more than exceeded expectations

It is funny reading that and then seeing what they managed on xbox one. If it wasn't for the fact that the 2 versions where done by two dev teams I would have swore the xbox one version is nothing but a port. Why the xbox one version is only slightly better in res and steady FPS is mind boggling. Given the power differences between the two I expected a bigger difference. You can't even blame it on MSAA either as both xbox one and 360 attain the same result in the same way, tiling with esram.

I think my problem with multiplayer games in general is that it always takes a game or two to get back into my groove when I play all the time.
Like you, I have been other games as of late (metal gear, infamous, Lego hobbit) so this mixed with the awful matchmaking means I am just not getting back into anymore. Instead of a couple games sucking I am going 4 or 5, not too much fun at all.

Just came back to console gaming after almost a year of MOBA. PvZ and Titanfall is what brought me back. PvZ is a blast to play and so far Titanfall is lots of fun. I saw my friend playing it on his Xbox one and I can't believe that this game is so close to the next gen version. The plan at first was to buy the xbox one bundle but I decided to rent a cabin on a lake this summer with the money instead. I can say that considering the quality of the 360 version I don't regret my choice.

oh! and this is my first post. Glad to see the teamxbox community survived.

You mean the 360? Unless you meant that the next-gen version is the PC when compared to the Xbox One's version. ;)

It's always nice to welcome somebody back with a troll post! ;)

Wasn't meant to be a troll post. Since the Xbox One is supposed to be the next-gen version so I'm assuming he meant the 360 version since he said he was glad how great it looked on the 360.

Yeah I meant to say that having seen it on the xbox one 2 weeks ago I couldn't believe how good it looked when I started playing it on my old 360. Bad syntax is great way to come back

Devs are familiar with xbox360 with years of experience on top of great tools, while xbox one is new to them with half broken tools

The dev involved here doesn't seem to be all that familiar. As far as I know their experience lies mainly in HD ports of previous gen games to PS3. I do not think they have even done an xbox 360 game. The dev tools is a valid point though.

They did MGS HDcollection for 360 back in 2011 also.

Has the game been running a bit funky for anybody lately?

Feels like I am getting shot around corners but on the replay I am not around the corner.

Man, I got to get my ass in gear and play this game more. It seems just about every gamer is now a Gen 3 or higher!

Goosed tips? I figured rodeoing then a smart pistol would make it easy but it now takes forever to lock on. Combine that with the fact that right when a Titan is about to explode people for some dumb decide to get out of it and not eject giving me an easy 9 points. Have yet to understand that tactic as I've never been killed by somebody who gets out of the Titan I am on top of.

Thinking of just hanging back with a chain gun?

Also when is that patch coming in so I'd only need to get 5 lol.

Only two tips for you. 1. Patience. 2. Chain gun with extended mag.

After that its all luck. I've only 3 for the challenge so far . Some people think last titan standing is the best mode for ejecting pilots but I've personally gotten all mine so far playing the Campaign as you get lots of newish players in that mode.

Rodeo with Autopistol and Shotgun, doom with autopistol and switch to Shotgun when they eject they will be 10-15 feet away from you and slightly lower than you. (Having lead wall helps) they will be in same location each time.

Other method is to try and stick in lobbies with other G5 who will probably not cloak and kill them with chaingun.

I got all of mine before I hit Lvl50

Had a great time last night. Stayed in the top two all night long. I was having so much fun brawling Titans with my Stryder. I killed 2 Ogres in a row by Robo-boxing. It's so exhilarating because of how confident those Ogre piloting bastards are, lol. One fool even decided it was a good Idea to trundle through my electric cloud to get to me. Ha, HA, HA, HA!!!

You really have to play skillfully to get use the Stryder effectively. That's why It's the most fun. Of course, if there are two good opponents, you die very quickly.

Yep. Its skill titan without a doubt. In the hands of a good player the stryder can cause huge problems. I use the Quad Gun with Rapid fire, Big Punch, Fast Regen, Electric Smoke & multi missile (to soften them up from a distance)

I've been sticking with the 40mm, as it's too easy to dodge the quad cannon. It would be great against those pesky Ogres though.

I also use Electric smoke and the Multi-lock on missles. I don't like Big punch because it takes too long and it's easy to miss. I like being able to do the faster punches, and they work for knocking enemies back into the "cloud", lol- gives me more options and lets' me stay light on my feet. I also get to have my dash regen.

I might try swapping the Big Punch for the Dash Regen booster. You should seriously check out the Quad with the Rapid Fire mod. It turns the Quad into a titan sized Sidewinder. It's the best anti titan gun in the game and it's lethal against pilots/grunts as well. You do sacrifice range with that mod but since you like to get in close, that's not a problem. I took out 11 titans in one game of LTS using it. :hehe:
