Until Dawn..1.5?

Thanks for the detailed impressions, Kvally. Sounds very positive.

I plan to pick up the game when it gets to around the $30 - $40 price range. I assume many others are, too.

Oh, and trophies are not handed to you in this game. I finished the game, I got about 3/4s of the totems, a bunch of clues, and I have like 8% of the trophies? They are ALL hidden trophies, so I don't even know what I would have been looking for. I know they do that for spoilers of course. Oh well.

Oh and my ending was Sam and Emilie survived..rest are dead! :

Just finished up the game this past weekend. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be playing it again. As for the ending...

Dead peple are Jessica (fell in mine), Chris (decapitated by Wendigo), and Josh (head crushed by Wendigo).

And yea really curious on the trophies because I only unlocked three or four of them.

I really really wish PSN allowed us to gift games. I would totally gift this at $20. It was a really great game. But in the sequel, there needs to be much much more death scenes, yknow like Tomb Raider 2013's death scene count, and a bit less of a forced direction on the story. I really want this kind of game style to take off.

Game needs more nudity...like LOTS more.

Hmm, good price... no PS4 here, but I'll have a go with the wife anyway :hehe:
Waiting for that Uncharted 4 bundle?? Gonna be getting that, Street Fighter 5, Until Dawn, Bloodborne, and Quantum Break on X1 and it's gonna be a glorious start to my 2016!

I love these type of games and I love horror! Not the biggest Hayden Pantier fan, but I'll get over it!

Got a PS4 on Black Friday pretty much for this and God of War, I am an Xbox guy but PS4 has some good exclusives. Being a horror movie lover I had to play this game, only put an hour in so far but loving it.

Also check out Bloodborne it's the highest rated exclusive and has a horror theme! The PS4 is gonna be a must own!

That is the only other exclusive I am interested in and I saw it Black Friday for $25, the only reason I held off was I have read the difficulty is crazy hard like the Souls games and that turns me off. I like a good hack n slash game like God of War but not one that I die 100 times. Sucks because it does look like my kind of game and I love the atmosphere.

It low-balled at $19.99 on Cyber Monday so expect that to be regular price after the holidays.

My boys bought the game and I couldn't get into it at all because of the 100 deaths on just the intro level. Too frustrating for my tastes. Even my boys who are more fast action youngster gamer's threw in the towel on it. Very niche title but no doubt the production levels are high if you can stand SuperMeatBoy quantity death.

1000 deaths for me. I think I died just tripping over tombstones, probably hit my temple on a rock.

I've only played Demon Souls and Bloodborne. I love the idea of these games, including Dark Souls, and while I enjoyed what little time I put into Bloodborne, I just can't get over the tension/suspense. It's not that I found them overly difficult or even raged about dying, but it's that tension of going into a new area knowing there's a good chance I'll be dead. It sounds like a stupid reason but there it is. Although for whatever reason a survival horror like Evil Within which is obviously suspenseful with great risk of death I find different. Still takes me a while to go through, maybe just playing an hour a day, but I love it.

Started into this today. Picked it up for $20. Played 90 minutes or so. As everyone has said, the facial animations are something else. The creepy psychiatrist is great, although I'm not sure what the point of all that is (yet). Seems like there is a lot to collect, with all the clues, totems, and other stuff.

I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would, so far (I'm not a fan of teen slasher films or horror games in general). The visuals and character interactions are carrying it pretty well. The characters have distinct, if a bit stereotyped, personalities (but that's the way it is with these movies, so I guess that fits). I'm finding the mechanics of choosing pretty interesting so far, and it does seem like it leads to different outcomes, as far as I can tell. Lots of work went into it, and it's an original approach (for a game), so I'm on board. I'm still early in the story, so we'll see how that turns out. I like that I have a chance to know the characters a bit before they start getting killed off.

People say this game hits an uncanny valley in visuals, but I don't see it. The game is just gloriously rendered.

Also I want a Supernatural video game like this. Every time I hear wendigo, I think Supernatural. Also it is actually pronounced wen-dee-go. The game got that wrong!

I've never liked these sorts of games, but I really liked this one. I doubt that I'll ever play though it again, but it was definitely worth the $20 I paid for it.

Yeah, anyone who hasn't picked it up should try it out. For $20, you can't go wrong. It was on sale for $15 not long ago.

I rented it at redbox for $2.00 the week it came out :).

It's actually the only game I have rented this gen. If I were to do it over I would have bought it.

Nice. Glad you finally got a chance to play it. Like i said months ago when i finished Until Dawn. Awesome game, just not really worth the $60 i shelled out for it. Not sure how well it did in sales but Sony released it at a good time for me, so i went all in.

Even though you didn't think it was worth $60, did you find it to be of high quality (acting, animations, graphics, story line and gameplay?). I think that it could have been maybe a $40 game new, but I am not an expert at values to be honest. It was a great game, but $60 is certainly a question. I rented it, but I would have paid $40 to $50 back then.
