What does the Bible *really* say about same-sex relationships?

To be fair, I think ALL the Religions can be explained to kids in the class room.

Go ahead and explain Jesus and Christianity, but give fair time to Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, Shinto, Taoism, Native American Religion, and Wicca/Paganism.

Tell them the Good News about Salvation and Heaven. Tell them about the path of Enlightenment to Nirvana. Tell them about veneration of ancestors and nature spirits.

Christian: What year is it?

Other Religious: It's the year 2014.

Christian: Well, why 2014? Did something happened to the date between BC and AD?

Other Religious: Uh, something about a Man called Lord Jesus Christ, I guess. We just think He's just a teacher and a normal person. Nothing more. We have some excellent leaders that can teach good things.

Christian: If that's the case, then why the year 2014? He (Jesus) must have did something that impacted the entire world. Including time (aka BC/AD). It tells me that He is very important person. If you think one of your "leaders" are so important, then the day that he/she born, we should mark it as new year (BC/AD) after them. Not Jesus Christ.

Other Religious: .....Okay... But what we're trying to teach people is to do good and require some works to prove that they can be a good people.

Christian: Sorry but if Christ, indeed, impact the entire world and actually effect the year (2014), then that must be REALLY important. Especially His death and rise back to life. That Resurrection, alone, literally impacted the entire world. And if what He said is true about Himself, (that He is the Son of God and no one can come to God except through Him), then everything He taught in the Bible must be true and all other religious false.

Other Religious: Who cares about Him? It doesn't matter. What we teach is good enough.

Atheist: Hey guys, happy new year!! The year is 205 AD!! Charles Darwin did impacted the entire world about 200 years ago!!:crazy::crazy:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Has anyone ever wondered why today is the year 2014? Go and study the history and tell me. Even if people try their best to avoid Jesus Christ, they can't help it but notice/aware that Jesus Christ did impacted the entire world. He is important! :D:D

Why does most of the world adopt the use of English? It's a matter of Western influence.

This Gregorian Calendar is named after Pope Gregory. Could the influence of the Catholic Church maybe have influenced this?

Otherwise, I think Eastern Countries like China still maintain their own such as the Han Calendar with their own Holidays and New Year which was February 19th on our Western Gregorian Calender.

Countries like China do still pay attention to the Gregorian Calander though because they deal with the West. Until a few hundred years ago, they could've probably cared less about our calendar.

So did Emperor Wu have more influence on China than jesus in the Han Dynasty?

I don't think anybody is disagreeing that Christianity is important (insofar as it spread across much of the western world). Its popularity and success doesn't make what the Bible says true though.

AD, Anno Domini, did not come into effect until about the year 500 on the Gregorian Calendar, so it's only been term for about 1500 years or so. So your thinking that the life of Jesus had such an impact that it changed the calendar date to count from when he was alive is wrong.

Love him or hate him... No name/person is more talked about.

No kidding. I've probably yelled "JESUS CHRIST" a million times when something happens that pisses me off. And probably utter "OH GOD" about as many times in the middle of sexor.

Can't get over how many religious people try to insist that life is meaningless after you die for non-religious people. Makes zero sense.

The same way religious people try to insist that "morals" is a god given idea, and without god, we have no morals.

Funny thing about the definition of moral...there's nothing really that is rooted in anything religious:

Exactly. We can decide what is right/wrong and moral all on our own, and as a society, thank you very much.

It's like "marriage". As if "marriage" was a word that only religious folk should be able to use, when it's not theirs to being with. And this idea that allowing gays to marry is somehow trampling on their rights. Really?

So a religion's divinity is based on popularity? If Christianity were about the apostles and not about Jesus, there would be no Christian superstar.

Or that life has no purpose without god, because obviously.

Doesn't matter what you believe in, people can and will always be ignorant and be arseholes.

Which is hard to understand because you'd think it'd only be people who don't believe because they are the only ones who live without any morals or knowing what's right or wrong. amirite!?

I've never met a meaningful dead person.

If you do something great while you're alive the living may remember you for a little while.

But, you'll be dead so you'll receive no satisfaction from that. While living and your time is winding down, you can feel good about the things you've accomplished and that's pretty much what it's all about .

Strive to be happy and hang on to the people you love, don't forget to smell the roses on your way.

All this s*** about afterlife? You'll find out later (or not aka you no longer exist in any way)

It's pretty simple to me. Religion is bulls*** and atheism is bulls*** no one knows what happens and probably never will. Aliens will invade before we have any proof of what happens in the afterlife and I've been waiting for the invasion my whole life.

I bet the aliens don't even have a clue about post-life conciousness which makes sense because maybe there isn't?
