XB1 Destiny Clan/Strike Team thread

We finally have our XBL Clan! I think we have 6 Clanmates now, hopefully we can get all of our members as Clanmates. Remember to select XBL as your Clan on our group page, it'll send me a Clan invite. Stupid, being a member of GotU isn't the same as being a Clan member.

Yeah that is kind of odd. You would think it would just count as a clan. Kind of dumb you have to join group and then request again for Clan.
 
I just sent a request, I'm not much of a multiplayer type player, have been doing co-op missions with my daughter but would like to do some of those 6 people strikes eventually! My gamertag is FireflyFlan.

Seeing if anyone wants to do a 3-6 fire team tonight. If 6, we can do crucible matches. If 3, we can do whatever. I haven't played for 2 days and want to get some more D-time in this weekend. Looking forward to vehicle matches.

When some of you are ready to start raiding, doing level 26/28 Daily Story Missions, and Weekly Nightfall Missions Id be happy to help. I know how to beat every section of the raid except one(Gorgon section).

Would be cool if I could ever get even to level 21. Guess I have to play strikes exclusively? Ive been doing bounties and patrols. Even the farming areas wont give me better than uncommon drops for the most part. Never seen a legendary. I am NOT fond of this random upgrade system.

Sadly, farming is the quickest way. It gets really boring. If you can get a 3 person fireteam while farming the cave on Earth the drops happen significantly more. You get drops for the kills your teammates get combined with your own. Even if you don't get a legendary engram drop while farming you can usually get enough rare engrams to level up the Cryptarch. Every time you lvl up your Cryptarch you get a package at the Postmaster that contains engrams. Ive gotten a lot of legendary engrams from that.

I did it last night for maybe half an hour. Not a single rare engram. Plenty of green items. My friend got several blues, but not me, and I was killing way more of them. Its damn lame. My cryptarch is still just past level 3. I try buying from him but it barely increases and the stuff he has is junk.

My suggestion is to focus your efforts on increasing either your Crucible, Vanguard, or faction ranks so that you can buy gear there to help you increase your light level. It may take a little more time for you to get all your gear, but it is GUARANTEED gear instead of relying on chance, which is something it sounds like you need right now. It also provides more of a sense of purpose to your actions, so you don't feel like your time and effort is wasted when you don't get the drops you want.

Thanks for the advice, and you are certainly getting to my feelings of frustration (wasted time and feeling of purpose), but I really, really don't want to do the crucible :(

Hey, you, me and Grimmy should hit up the crucible then. We all need to rank up, and I like you am not looking forward to the crucible. We are a Clan after all...

You don't have to do the Crucible. You can increase your Vanguard rank by doing Strikes, Patrols, Bounties, etc. Once you've increased your Vanguard rank, then you can start purchasing their gear. All of that is completely independent of the Crucible.

That's what I did yesterday. I hit the caves a few times. Even if you don't get too much rare engrams; you need the uncommons to break down to upgrade what you have. I keep running out of weapon parts because I'm constantly upgrading my gear plus my one and only Legendary Pulse rifle (love it).

Between the caves, I did the bounties for the crucible and vanguard. This is pure work. :) If I didn't enjoy it.

Last night, I received a bounty for an exotic weapon. First part is done. I had to not die in 5 strikes. Guess which one I did. ;)

I'm always up for crucible or anything else. I actually like the crucible alot. I do Clash most of the time, unless there's a bounty.
 
We should do the weekly strike together too. I can probably get through it slowly, but as a team should be much easier.

I should be rank 2 for Crucible and Vanguard this week.

Is it worth getting involved with Factions?
 
I would like to do the Raid and/or the Nightfall Strike this week if possible. I would like to get more Ascendant Shards so I can work on finishing my upgrades for the current gear set I'm using.
