It would be better if we could just limit this to a poll only, no comments to prevent derailing etc.

Do MS exclusive games this fall/winter have a chance to outsell ps4's entire exclusive retail 2014 and 2015 lineup combined? That's 2 quarters for xb1 versus 2 full years of exclusives on ps4.

Can it be done?

Here's my predication on sales for fall/winter.

TR 1.15 million
Halo5 4.65 million
Forza 6 1.7 million
Rare Replay 1.25 million

Total 8.75 million

I'm not even sure if Fable has a paid version so I left that out completely. I downplayed the other sales a bit to make it more comparable, but I think overall it could be close. I think Rare Replay will be a huge surprise and its topping preorders like crazy.

Even if my predications are 1-2 million off, I think that's pretty decent for a platform with such a small install base to rival ps4's retail exclusive lineup for 2 years in a single quarter or 2 even. The install base is not even HALF of ps4s. Mind you, a mainline halo game has never sold under 9 million, so its downplayed considering the install base, however halo 2 sold over 9 million on just 24 million consoles on the market.

Could be with multiple sweet bundles and a price drop Sony won't match.

Exclusive wise, MS has this year and next on lock down/solitary. Watched a video earlier about how Microsoft should bundle Rare's Replay with X1's this holiday. That would be wise, not to mention B.C. We'll see though.

Hard to tell. And are we talking NPD (US data), or global sales?

No brainer X1 has the better games, but there's a ton more PS4s out there, so just like PS4 gamers buying TLoU Remastered like crazy, PS4 gamers may also buy up tons of Uncharted Collection since it's really the only big name game coming this fall for PS4.

Global exclusive retail games. Sure, why not throw in TLoU.

Based on your predictions absolutely not but don't we need to know where PS4 exclusives stand at this point before taking this seriously?

So far, I think the key retail games coming for PS4 in the fall are Uncharted Collection and R&C. So that's two so far.

R&C isn't but I meant what the games have sold so far. There would be a good amount of million+ sellers in there.

Last of Us Remastered (according to articles) sold 1M in its first month. By early 2015 it's sales increased to about 3M. It's a remaster though, not a sequel.

- KZ I believe sold about 2M in it's first few months of launch.... not sure what sales are since then, but probably tailed off big. Maybe topped out at 2.5M based on a low user base?
- Driveclub sold 1M in it's first week.... maybe at 2M by now?
- Bloodborne sold 1M in it's first month..... maybe at 1.5-2M by now?
- Can't find sales data of 1886

You can if you are taking his poll literally.

Can XB1 fall/winter 2015 retail exclusives outsell PS4's entire 2014 and 2015 lineup?

So to that point, no way in hell.
Yeah, you're right.

Doesn't seem likely. Also would take a lot of internet article searching, re-verification and guesswork as most games get PR sales for the first month, but then you never hear from them again. Unless people go by VG Chartz. lol

Yeah that's the issue I had, most of the ps4 sales aren't easy to find.

Infamous sold over a million as well. Throw in all the other games makes the answer to this very obvious.

Throw up all the guesses on the PS side to tally a number. I'd like to see it. Sounds like about 10-12million on sales total for exclusives 2014-2015?

Guess would be the keyword but lets say the numbers were this

TLOU 2 million without bundles
Driveclub 2
Order: 1
Bloodborne 2
Infamous 1.5
MLB 14/15 1
LBP3 .5

That would be about 10 million without including any other exclusive or any other unreleased game. There would be a bunch of games that likely wouldnt have big numbers but would add up.

Just wish we had more concrete numbers, VGchartz is all I can find and they have LBP3 at 1million, but no way to know.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for Valliance to post.
No doubt he is frothing at the mouth.

I don't think they'll sell better than all of Sony's exclusives but being that all of MS's exclusives this year are sequels vs Sony releasing all new IP's this year it does give MS an edge. I'd also say that until Tomb Raider is absolutely confirmed to never be coming to another platform it's not really right to include it as an exclusive.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a fall/winter 2015 retail exclusive. It by definition, fits perfectly with the description given. By the next year, it will no longer matter in this case.

By next year it will no longer be exclusive and therefor it's sales totals shouldn't be counted on this list. Third party timed "exclusives" aren't really exclusive they are just coming out first on one platform.

Is there a confirmation it won't be exclusive this time next year? Even if so, that's not what the thread is about. For 2015 fall, its exclusive.

If that's the case The Order could be multiplatform down the road, its exclusivity isn't certain anymore with what has been said, not that it sold well.

Well, in that case, the annual MLB game, Uncharted Collection, LBP 3, God of War 3, TLoU shouldn't be included too as all these games can be played on PS3.

Given PS4's lead in sales, the answer is no.

If the question was re-asked as, can the X1's holiday exclusives outsell all of PS4's in terms of percentage of install base, then I'd say yes, or at least very close.

There's a chance. 2015 is definitely a banner year for the Xbox One. The PS4 just doesn't match up this year. 2016 might be a bloodbath in favor of the PS4 though.
