Xbox One All-In-One demo video by Yusuf Mehdi & Marc Whitten

Is there a similar video from PS4 that shows what it can do? I've got to think that MS has Sony completely outclassed when it comes to the UI and overall functionality. That was really amazing and worked just as I hoped it would. One thing I'm not sure about is will I be able to use the other features I get from my cable box through the XB1 interface, such as OnDemand and the DVR (I have Xfinity). We don't record shows on DVR as much as we used to but OnDemand gets a lot of use in my house. Live TV looks to be working great but there's no mention of those other cable features being integrated. I'm guessing they aren't.

Big difference - PS4 is unabashedly a gaming console first/foremost.

X1 is a completely different beast.

That doesn't show much in terms of the interface, but the share features and social aspects are neat.

Side note: Music choice for the video could have been better.

AMAZING!!! Works just like they described at E3!!!

On another note I just picked up my COD xb1 hardened edition today!!! IT BEGINS!!

The demo was fantastic. I loved it (and I'm not planning on getting an X1 until next year). This is the video that should have announced the system.

I shouldn't have watched this.

While it doesn't change my want for the PS4, it took a purchase i thought i could wait on (X1) and hype me thru the ceiling. So how do you tell your wife you want to spend another $500 right now to play many the same games on both systems:) She is going to kill me.

You could mention it comes with a year of personal training. I would put that delicately though.

Oh my ahahahah, there really ain't the correct words to describe how pathetic some people are on that forum. The lenghts they go to to badmouth a freaking system they for some stupid f***ing reason, don't like. What a hilarious idiot trying yet again to say this is fake. OMFG x 1000000.

Of course i am kidding. I mean.....the UI is a complete f***ing mess and it keeps crashing. A VERY reliable source confirmed that to us. Source? My ass! LOL

I bet the NeoTurds are just frustrated. Deep down in their little hearts they hoped the rumors were true about a mess of an UI and that the Xbox Reveal demo could never come true in terms of how smooth and fast it all is...but they are wrong and they realize PS4 in no way will have it as good as this. Ah i feel for them.....oh wait...no...no i don't at all actually. :D

When they announced the Xbox One as an all-in-one system, i was like...mehhh f*** this, i just want a gaming console and that's it. But lately i found myself using Netflix quite a bit, definitely something that has little to do with gaming. On Xbox One i can just watch a movie, switch over to the game and continue where i left off. It really is pretty damn amazing how fast everything and a world of difference with 360. More and more am i starting to understand MS' vision.

That was really impressive.

I like how some people on the internet still have to find something bad to say though. "Am I the only one who thinks Forza didn't look that good graphically" Are you serious!?!? :smash:

During the clip it didnt look so hot but we've all seen enough to know its a landmark title and will look great. It was good for the demo though.

Good thing this is all pure speculation. When asked by Bloomberg to comment, Microsoft replied, "We appreciate Bloomberg's foray into fiction and look forward to future episodes." (Thanks to The Verge for the tip.)

At least the TV part looks OK but it won't beat using a remote. They need to come out with a X1 remote that can function as a high end DVR remote. It will probably have to have a touch screen and a learning feature due to all the different button configurations. Otherwise I'll spend the 2 seconds extra and change inputs with a remote. It's gonna be a circus act going from voice to the controller to the remote lol. You're gonna have to use the remote/controller for a lot of things. And if you use the remote your gonna throw off the Xbox because it's gonna think you're watching HBO when you switched channels and are now recording EPSN. I just feel that you'll still need a remote close by so if you have a remote close by why not use it?

Or they could make a smartglass apps for this.

Besides some of the tiles staying in their default color, like Skype's light blue, when you have an all orange theme going let's say, everything else looks pretty great and responsive.

The kinect tracking was impressive, it follows you or senses multiple people. People still don't respect the technology being implemented.

I watched that video yesterday and was prepared for disappointment. But then I saw how Kinect can switch between users on the fly and can fricking track you in your living room. Also, the pausing of games to use other features instantly. Damn impressive.

Then I started imagining using Xbox One in my house. Voice commands for music, TV and videos without touching a button. Walking into the house after work and just saying "Xbox On" is pretty swank too. I am starting to understand MS's decision to have an all in one box in the living room. It'll be the centerpiece of the house.

As a guy who switches around to different inputs a lot, especially during football season, nothing sounds easier than telling your Xbox to do it for you.

In general this demo was great, just imagine how smooth it will be a year from now after they keep improving it with updates.

Question: If I connect my Direct Tv through the Xbox One can I still use Direct Tv in another hdmi input in regular mode?

I doubt the mrs or I for that matter will sit around and talk to the television for too long. I'm using it to save a HDMI port and or if I am gaming and want to watch Tv. I don't think my Xbox will be on all of the time.

From what I gather you can say "xbox watch tv" and it will pass through your cable/directv box to the tv. if you say "xbox show guide" or "xbox watch <channel>" then it will use the built-in xbox guide functionality.
