Xbox One/PS4 are you happy?

I like it but I need several games to play to make it truly worthwhile. NFS is good but I need something else as well, and right now there is no must-buy games for me. I'll experiment with Ryse and BF4, but ultimately I need one of the three: Rocksteady, Rockstar or Bioware.

I am happy with both. I like the simplicity of the PS4 UI, looking forward to some good games coming for it. Biggest disappointment with PS4 is the lack of games - I am not into FPS and Knack looks like a bust so I haven't bought a game for it yet. XB1 has me loving the Kinect and TV integration plus they have brought out some great launch games - namely DR3, F5, and PSG (I may even get Ryse for Christmas after all the great gamer feedback). Biggest disappointment for XB1 has been the party system and lack of recent players list. I'm in for the long haul for both and I'm looking forward to the future of both and I already have more than enough entertainment to keep me busy - I may play about 10-15 hours per week and I've barely scratched the 6 games I currently own.

The so called 'New Generation' has been out for a weeks so I thought I'd make a thread and pose a few questions to see if you (the consumer) are happy with your purchase? do you wish you'd have waited? or do you wish you'd have gone the other way? Ie: bought a Playstation but should have got a Xbox One for example.

I'm content with my Xbox One purchase. I still think a lot of the content/capabilities on the system are never going to be used by me such as Skype, snap mode, surfing the net, bing, etc.

The things I use my Xbox One for right now are:
1. Games
2. Netflix
3. Blu ray movies
4. Xbox Fitness

That's it.

I'm enjoying the X1 quite well. There's still some polish needed on the OS, and Quantum Break can't come fast enough, but between the voice control, TV integration, fun with Forza and my son enjoying Lego Marvel, it definitely has justified the purchase price for me.

I'm happy to have both. But I'm enjoying (and using) my X1 far more at this point.

I need to finish Killzone and BF4 on PS4. I got frustrated and quit at different points in each game.

Very happy with my X1. Love the console, love the games.

Loving my X1 so far. Some features could be better (or included!) but I'm happy over all.

Own a PS4. Not happy with the games. I'm happy with the feel of the controller and getting a problem free (so far) console.

Overall, I'm happy. If I had a do-over, I would probably hold off on the PS4 for 18 months until it has more awesome exclusives and instead put my money towards a Steambox in the summer if it turns out to be awesome.

Xbox One -
Positives: Lots of potential with the interface, good launch exclusives, and lots of future exclusives to look forward too. Live is great as always. UI is snappier than before. Controller is solid overall, though it may be a step down from the 360.

Negatives: Kinect isn't worth it IMO, the inability to get launch games up to 1080p is quite embarrassing, the UI can feel clunky and cluttered.

PS4 -
Positives: Awesome new controller, extremely quick and smooth UI, several free games at launch, seems to be the better platform for most 3rd party games.

Negatives: Controller battery life and most importantly LACK OF AWESOME EXCLUSIVES for 12 months.

Overall, I think the PS4 is the better physical console, but the Xbox One will have better services and exclusives at least through 2014. So in an ideal situation I would have the PS4 as my console with the Xbox One's exclusives and Xbox Live service on it. Unfortunately, that won't happen.

I'm very happy with both. I feel completely overwhelmed with all the games I have between the two systems, so I'm a bit surprised to see some complain nothing's available. Regardless, really enjoying the new games and improvements from last gen. Lots of fun being had at my house.

I am very happy with the Xbox One, I am enjoying the current games and I see a lot of potential for this system down the road. Hopefully it gets great support and updates. The dash, especially the games section needs to be cleaned up and organized better.

I'm enjoying my PS4, but I'm currently too busy to really play it. It could use a few more games, for sure.

I really enjoy PS4. I had an Xbox One Day 1 edition sitting there unopened for a week or so, but ultimately ended up returning it. I just don't have the time or money to enjoy 2 consoles right now. Maybe next year or so I'll add X1 to the mix.

Right now, I really enjoy what I have for PS4 and I'm also looking forward to the titles coming early next year, too (Dying Light, infamous, watch dogs).

I'm glad that it seems like both are off to a good start. We need the competition to continue!

Got the x1 and it exceeded my expectation. Simply navigating the dash is fun. Lots of content and the games are a blast to play. I have a gaming PC and find my x1 more enjoyable. Favorites so far are killer instinct, nfs rivals, bf4, FIFA, and runners up are ryse, Dr3, forza, and NBA 2k14.

I have the option of getting a P's 4 right now with a 4 month payment plan but I can't decide if I want it. The x1 gets a lot of my time and kill zone doesn't get me exited. Hmmmm

I'm happy. I have a few nitpicks if you want to hear about them (the keyword being "nitpicks", not to say I'm unhappy):

-The D-Pad still needs work. The adjustable D-Pad on the limited edition 360 controller was better than this one.
-The bumper buttons are unnecessarily harder to press than the 360's and provide less feedback
-The UI lags if you haven't done a full power down in over 1-2 weeks (Should be fixed with latest update)
-If my fan is on, my Kinect struggles to hear me.
-Has no battery life indicator for controller
-Has no memory/storage management in the settings

Lastly, please make the XB1 controller 360 compatible. And vice versa.

i dont care about the memory management but i do care about the no battery life indicator.. so dumb

I was thinking of polling, to see how many people here own X1s and PS4s, but I think it's best to wait until after Christmas. I'm just curious how many early adopters we have.
