Xbox One X

How do you cancel the Game Pass? I don’t see an option to cancel it on my XBox. I tried to use my 30 day free trial that came with my One X, but it kept giving me a message saying it was for new customers only. I don’t really have the time for more games right now and Sea of Thieves was a disappointment right now. I’ll get it again for State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3.

When I cancelled a couple of months ago I had to do it through customer service, there was no option to do it myself.

Is it my X or controller thats messed up or what ?...the Dashboard is so stuttery for me,its like every 5 seconds or so,my clicks to scroll down or whatever, take 2 seconds to work, and if I did 2 clicks while its stuck,it goes to the place the last click stopped but thats not what I wanted to see lol...

And I dowloaded the Homefront bundle yesterday, granted all together it was like 65 GB,it took like 10 hours...? I have a 25mb/s connection...

Sounds like its hdd or net related

Settings - network - advanced settings - clear Mac address

This has helped iron out unresponsive and show dashboard.

Thanks, I will try that later, checked the network status earlier and it said XBox Live was down so I didnt want to clear or do anything until it says it's back up.

To cancel you have to go to the Microsoft page itself which is a pain in the ass.

Shouldn’t be like that.

"Really, it's only $10 a month and you get all this crap". Choice words.

But nah, it's a good value. Better for new owners. I canceled my free sub after realizing Sea of Thieves wasn't for me. Once they get some real blockbusters in there at launch instead of an unfinished GAAS game it'll be great.

  1. Navigate to account.microsoft.com/services.
  2. Sign into your Microsoft account.
  3. Navigate to the Xbox Game Pass subsection of the page.
  4. Click Manage.
  5. Choose Turn off auto-renew.
  6. Select Confirm cancellation.

Thanks for the reminder. Renewal is now disabled. They even offered me my months sub back (just paid yesterday) but I'll keep it until the next renewal date.

I wonder how active Sea of Thieves will be come May?

I assume it will only grow with more sales, more content, more gamepass subs.

Microsoft is selling a pornographic game on Xbox, and it will ban you if you take screenshots
https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-banning-people-taking-clips-vaguely-pornographic-xbox-game

Metropolis: Lux Obscura is a match-3 puzzle game which features vaguely pornographic cartoon comic panels, and you can get banned from Xbox Live if you take screenshots of it.

Ah, algorithms. Smart for reducing your human work force, yet often a dumb way to treat your customers. Microsoft's NSFW-shy image processing A.I. has been banning people from Xbox Live for screenshotting a game on Xbox Live, known as Metropolis: Lux Obscura.

Metropolis: Lux Obscura is a $7.99 match-3 style puzzle game which intersects with a Sin City-style noir comic book, featuring many many racy scenes. It sports the "Mature +17" ESRB rating for violence, blood, drug references, strong language, nudity, and sexual content.

Related: How to disable Xbox One clip and screenshot sharing on Xbox Live

Players using the Xbox to take screenshots or video clips using Microsoft's own Xbox Game DVR have been finding, however, that doing so can land you with hefty bans (thanks, K4rn4ge) on Xbox Live for "pornographic content."

Update, April 6, 2018:previously I stated that you could get banned even if you didn't share the screenshots publically, but it's unclear whether or not that is the case as I've been given conflicting reports. At the very least, Microsoft should disable screenshot sharing by default for Mature-rated games, rather than banning innocent people who were unaware of this oversight.

Cant believe I have a 2 week #XboxLive ban for reviewing a game with cartoon adult nudity.
Metropolis: Lux Obscura raises the hypocrisy of Xbox Live's banning mechanisms, which are effectively entrapping people for using Xbox systems on Xbox games, without any real warning of rule violation. Microsoft is happy to sell you a pornographic game, but don't you dare take clips of it!

Microsoft has an extensive code of conduct list buried somewhere in its website, but it would seem far more logical to simply either block Game DVR on games that Microsoft finds embarrassing, or add a "NSFW" content blocker option filter across Xbox Live. At least warn people that using Xbox Live systems on Xbox-approved games can get you banned.

Metropolis features a non-linear noir plot, crammed with NSFW scenes. And Microsoft doesn't like it (despite selling it to you...)

Hilariously, Metropolis: Lux Obscura is available not only on Steam, but even the family-friendly Nintendo Switch, and neither of those platforms have been handing out bans for playing and sharing the game that I can find.

This issue has been raised before on other Xbox games with adult themes, so I doubt it'll be fixed or improved any time soon. But until it does, take this is a PSA word of caution: be careful when you take screenshots of Xbox games, Microsoft's banning algorithm is very prudish.

Borderlands is one of those games where I freaking loved it but then the sequels started to feel repetitive and got bored. Just started to feel the grind effect.

I just couldn't get into it, I tried but it just didn't work for me.

Yeah it's hard to argue that on the face of it the value isn't there but really it all depends on your taste and what appeals to you. Someone could be offering you 100 games for $10 and that's a good deal but if you couldn't care less about any of them than it's a waste of $10.

4 player coop with the fellas was great fun, but we only got about 25% thru the sequel and in unison were all basically like "Meh, you guys bout done with this?"

Yeah, I LOVE BL2 (and 1) and I have still yet to make it through the pre-sequel. I think enough time will have passed by the time BL3 comes out that I'll be ready again. It's also one of those games where playing with friends makes it infinitely more fun.

They are grinding games though...
I agree AFTER BL2 and its superb DLC things went down hill.
I am hoping for BL3 to have the same special sauce of the 1st 2 and some type of daily missions to keep players playing.
