Get ready to play it again.

Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are two of the most acclaimed superhero games on Xbox 360. They're phenomenal not only due to their story, but also due to their combat mechanics and detailed open worlds. A few years ago, both experiences were remastered for Xbox One. Since then, many gamers have been asking Warner Bros. to upgrade them for Xbox One X.

Batman: Arkham Asylum pits Batman against the Joker and other villains who are locked up inside Arkham Asylum. Due to a riot, a lot of these characters escape their cells and it's up to Batman to restore order. Batman: Arkham City expands the playground to a large section of Gotham City. Batman: Return to Arkham contains both of these games.

Today, Xbox Live's Director of Programming Larry Hryb announced that the Batman: Return to Arkham collection was Xbox One X Enhanced. We've been testing out the updates for a few hours and you can definitely see the difference. The resolution seems to be higher and the frame is much smoother. Hopefully the publisher will detail the changes soon.

Currently, Return to Arkham is available for roughly $20 at retailers like Amazon and the Microsoft Store. If you love Batman — or superhero games in general — be sure to give this collection a go. While the titles may be a little dated, they're still a lot of fun to play.

This game looked great on the 360! Should be awesome in 4K.

f*** you Microsoft for making me spend another $150 on a controller because it's now available in Robot White

Whelp, time to buy this. That is just too damn nice to not put next to my black Elite. White and black controllers matter.

Can't wait to watch the daily Crapgamer vid on this. "Huge news! Dev says Microsoft already won next gen!"

The comments on his videos are gold. Like really, it doesn't matter who you have a rooting interest in. If you want to be entertained check him out if you don't already.

The thumbnails of his videos are already enough for me to avoid his channel.

They'll win next gen my friend, no?

If they continue to be the most pro-consumer and deliver the games then yeah, they've got a shot. The Xbox One X is a better machine than the PS4 Pro. Better controller and features. Bring the games and it's anyone's guess who wins next gen.

It all comes down if the price is justified when they announce the next systems and also what will be the next trend to carry it over.

Price will be a huge factor next gen. If the X is anything to go by then I hope they have a subscription model/sku available. I don’t think many are ready to plunk down so much when this gen is looking so good atm.

Gamers are the most fickle tribe in the world. They'll switch on a dime. Who wins next gen is anyone's guess. Because Sony wiped the floor this gen, means jack s*** as far as next gen goes. Each generation is a do over. One wrong move by any of the big three, and its a swan song pretty much until the next gen begins. Even Sony isn't immune to this.

We've seen Sony falter in the past, the bad news for MS is that Sony at their worst was still better than MS at their best. The 360 so far is MS's best generation, the X1 no longer matches it in sales at this point in it's lifecycle. MS and Sony basically tied last gen even though MS had a year head start and a price advantage the entire time, which means Sony basically beat MS when you adjust for years they actually went head to head. If they want to "win" next gen (meaning be the leader in sales) they need to be able to figure out how to become a global brand, so far they haven't been able to do it but maybe next gen they will, we'll see. Not being the winner doesn't mean they can't still be successful don't get me wrong, you can still make plenty of money in 2nd place but everyone wants to be at the top of the industry they are in and based on how things have gone for them so far it looks like that's going to be harder for them to accomplish than it would be for Sony.

I don't think Sony will stray from what made the ps4 a success, easy to develop for hardware, great games, good power, and affordable.

MS has a massive uphill battle if they want to overtake them. It can happen as you say but it took a ps3 travesity of a machine/launch price to slow the roll sony came off of with ps2.

ps4 is very similar to ps2 in terms of success and ps5 would really have to mess up that ps4 momentum.

I see next generation as closer but not like 360 vs ps3 close. I see sony outselling them by 30% even if MS brings awesome hardware and games because sony will do the same.

If PS5 is 10 TF i think X2 will be 12 TF....
Not sure if they can sell a 12 TF with a improved cpu and more ram for $400...
2 more TF may not manifest as much of an improvement, though. A few more FPS? Slightly better shadows? I think it's fair to expect a 4k-ish standard, but I do wonder what the big change-up will be. Maybe still offer the 4k/30 vs 1080/60fps model? I think I'll be more interested in which one crunches physics better, maybe. Diminishing returns are real for visuals (not that there isn't anywhere to go, but even old games are looking great at 4k), so we need to see a push in AI and physics.
