Yooka-laylee

Coming April 11th according to Xbox listing

Wii U version canned due to technical issues (really is cause the system is dead) but a Switch version might happen

Anyone who donated for Wii U version can swap it for another at no cost or get a refund.

Another game I want that I have successfully ignored through development. Coming out in April which should line up alright with what other games I have coming out around then.

Should be good. I just get the feeling i'll play it and be constantly wondering why it couldn't be Banjo but whatever. Looking forward to it.

Jim Sterling has a review copy and he doesn't sound that impressed....

Oh man, where is the puke emoticon!? Lol, it sounds like my Dad (who is 62), Bob from accounting, and the assistant principle from a random middle school making a "hip song the kids will love!" So bad! XD

"Its commitment to nostalgia is both Yooka-Laylee’s greatest strength and its greatest weakness. The characters are largely annoying and the writing and delivery is almost universally bad, but man, that gameplay is still very special indeed. Having been largely starved of traditional 3D platformers for the past 15 years, this serves as a perfectly timed reminder of why the genre was so popular in the first place. With its fantastic mechanics married to a selection of sprawling words chock full of challenges and a fantastically addictive sense of progression, Yooka-Laylee overcomes its occasional rough edges and lack of polish to deliver the finest 3D platformer this side of Super Mario Galaxy."

Currently at 73MC

Seems to depend on if you want old school or not

I really wanted it. I couldn't wait any longer so I bought Rare Replay to play Banjo Kazooie.
Give Jet Force Gemini a go. It's simply stellar! (Gettit!?)

I remember playing the game with my disabled (She has a form of MS) mother when I was a kid. The second character can only move the retical and help the main player, so it's really accessible for player 2. Some of my fav gaming moments stem from the N64 era, and I love that the developers have managed to revive the charm and warmth from that era.

Watching these videos feels like a warm, gaming hug.

I've played a bit of it. I do like it. But the controls take some getting used to.

Not worried about reviews. Been waiting for a Banjo type game and this nails it so i'll get to it eventually.

User impressions are generally positive. I totally forgot I backed this on PS4. I must have changed it when the Wii U version was canceled.

So I guess I haven't followed this game closely enough, but watched some on Twitch and have to ask, is this game just a blatant rip off of banjo or is it made by the same people? They took so many mechanics straight from it, even how characters talk, the jokes, and the animation when leaving an area.
