In Ryse they were executions which could totally be ignored allowing the player to finish the enemy off in real time if they wanted to. What made them so awesome in Ryse was how smooth and graphic they were and some were based on the environment so if you were finishing a enemy next to a ledge Marius would flip them over it or bash their head on the ledge and the double executions were a sight to behold.
It just seems like there is this double standard going on. This game is running at 30 fps and has QTEs but that seems to be ok because its a Sony exclusive. I want consistency in bashing, dammit.
There's no double-standard, there are plenty Sony-games also beeing bashed for overusing quicktime events aswell - if you don't believe me, check out any Heavy Rain or Beyond Two Souls threads,
I'll be surprised if you find a single page on any forum were someone isn't complaining about it. :-/
All we know is that the author in gameinformer concidered it's a unique take on them here - most gamers havn't seen it, and are most likely looking to see it for themselves before deciding if it add or subtract to the experience. :-/
To me, the description makes it sound like they are going for abit more interactivety in the QTE, than usual. :-/
Last I saw that, done really well - with slow-down time, were in Uncharted: Golden Abyss on Vita.
I loved that myself, I tought it were much cooler to see Nathan Drake ducking after my finger beeing dragged on the screen, or him punching after my finger-swipe, I found it much more fun with finger-interactivity - than normal press button for the cool-move. :-)
But I read several reviews, where people hated it.
But it's hard to decide for yourself if it looks fun or not, before you see it.
