The gap will significantly widen. I do expect MS to close the gap quite a lot this winter as I think MCC will be big and COD is associated with Xbox.
Yeah, I know but there has to be a point when MS says enough is enough, we're going to close the gap starting at this point. Sounds like this holiday is when they do a big push, we'll see if that'll start closing the gap.
I wonder if Sony was saying the same thing last gen. It's f***ing early this gen. still. I'm not saying they MS will catch Sony but I'm sure MS will sell they're fair share.

Pachter predicts X1 outsells PS4 in September NPD 2014. He correlates this prediction with the amazing bundle deals Xbox One had by giving away free games. We'll know this Thursday.

360 fans: Another DF comparison, par for the course. Huge difference, 360 is just more powerful and easier to program for it's that simple.

It's so painful how much this generation mirrors the previous one. It's like some alternate future type s***.
That'd be hilarious, and I'd expect much gloating, some banning, and some whining.
That would be a bigger shock than March (lol). Can't see that happening at all.
Also, Original Xbox fan statements = Current PS4 fan statements -and- PS2 fan statements = Current Xbox One fan statements.
My main console for a gen will always be:
1. A system that's a huge improvement over what I played last gen (doesn't have to be #1 in power).
2. A system that has great third party support.
3. System that has the most exclusive console games I'm interested in.
Hence why I went from PS2 --> 360 --> XB1 for my "main" consoles. There's definitely a lot of hypocrites though as you've pointed out.
Wii U fans: I don't give a rat's ass about any of this. I got Mario, Zelda, and Metroid and you don't.
It just shows how pointless the console war is. Whichever platform one prefers they're going to make the argument to justify to themselves that it's better than the console they didn't pick. We could all spin it any way we'd like. At the end of the day it's just a hobby. Buy both consoles or just keep your mouth shut is my take on it.
I think he's overestimated the impact that had, he said that before it even happened that it was going to dominate sales. He probably doesn't take into account all of those PS4/Destiny bundle pre orders that are going to be counted as September sales. MS has been giving games away off and on for a while and it hasn't done much for them so far so I don't get why he feels that this would be any different.

did we miss the promo where xbox was given away with every PS4? Pachter must be seeking attention, he can't be that dumb to believe what he's predicting.

^^^^ I don't think this gen mirrors the last as in both cases PlayStation had the more powerful hardware plus the PS4 gap is significantly larger in many cases.
We haven't had any sold numbers just how much it's made which was a fair bit less than the shipped numbers.
