Multiplatform Graphics Discussion [OT]

Okay so when the videos become available showing this I will post them if somebody else doesn't do it before me.
I am playing the game now. Don't even need videos, lol. I can post as many pics or videos that you like though.

DC looks great.
Forza 6 uses the same card board cutouts as F5. Didn't you play the demo?

Yeah okay but in Forza you aren't racing people...
The cars (as in the actual stars of the game) as well as the tracks look good.

Oh...and DC only looks good in the rain if we are going to sit here and cherry pic graphical shortcomings.

We are in a graphics comparison thread.
So in this thread it matters.
Keep up the attempted Xbox defensiveness though.
I will call you out every time

F6 vs DC. lol

F6
- 1080p
- 60 fps
- Full livery
- Arcade and sim gameplay
- Cosmetic and mechanical damage
- 24 cars online
- 450+ total cars
- Drivatar AI
- Released on time

DC
- 1080p
- 30 fps
- Limited livery
- Arcade gameplay
- Zero mechanical damage
- 12 cars online
- 50+ total cars
- Delayed a year and a half

F6. Next gen racing.
DC. PS2 quality content with next gen resolution

Them limitations are being shown.
Don't like these truths? Get out of the thread
All games cut corners to get better visuals. DC is 30fps and highly restrictive invisible barriers on a game that has average gameplay visuals. That was after a year delay on a year two PS4 title. All games make cuts to get the best visuals possible at the most stable best framerate. Are cardboard cutouts for crowds funny, sure, is it a deal breaker, absolutely not. A game must be pretty awesome if the only thing people can pick on it are the crowds that are a blur when actually playing the game. With Forza 5, the game was 60fps with visuals on par with the one year delayed Drive Club. That's not bad.

Did you not see the screens I posted? It looks like a ps2 game many times lol

See, you're busted, you just admitted earlier the reason DC has weak visuals in areas was because it was 1st gen, now its "looks great" lol

But its not ok for a LAUNCH game F5 to have some visual issues too, whereas DC came out much later and is 30fps, no sim physics to calculate, less cars onscreen, less advanced AI, but its just fine with you.

Again, where are the F6 screens?

3D crowds???

Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for.

Which PC racing game from 2006 are these pics from?

Who knew the sun wasn't soley in outer space, but actually has a twin sister on Earth (at street level) directly beneath the cars shining light so bright there's not a shadow to be found.

Props to whichever racing game got hold of Audi's secret hovercraft car. Looks like its driving about 4 ft off the ground.

Or the new Audi has anti-shadow reflector plates underneath, ensuring all pavement gets its fair dose of light at all times.

Would be surprising if this racing only ran at 30 fps. At such last gen frames, it should be able to have much better visuals and physics.

The orange time stripes on the left are great too. A good trade off to have half foot long stripes go into the middle of the screen, despite the time only going to seconds, and all other time counters on the screen going to 3 decimals. But here's hoping the time counter uses that stripe and goes to the 18th decimal place!

Formatting is exceptional:

Target: 4:06.000
* 4:06
Width of stripe: technically able to write it as 4:06.00000000000000000000000000

Card board cutouts are a deal breaker in a graphics comparison thread...stay on topic

So is 30 fps in canned circuit racers.

A mighty sad day when a canned racer with an extra year and a half dev time and budget can't surpass open world racers (like FH2 that have tons of physics, damage, AI) in frame rate.

Where's all that power being used in those 30 frames?

Even Wipeout on PS1 (1995 or 1996) ran at 30 fps. Even a canned racer like PowerBoat Racing on PS1 ran at 60 fps.

Give me something worth replying 2

When comparing visuals in a graphics thread... DC smokes all 3 forza games

Nice try, but I never said that.

But hey, if you want to falsify people's messages go ahead.

Love those orange Wolverine-style spikes on the left. Another 4-5 inches and it would be piercing the car.

If the the spikes were any longer, you could write *4:06 as:

*4:06.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Interestingly, the tips of the spikes have shadows. But the car doesn't.

Yet it still has better graphics then any forza hahaha

Help!

My car is getting stabbed by the 3:05, 3:14 and 3:24 spikes!

But I'm sure there is a logical reason why a few cells that hold a common time clock has to be 5x bigger than it should be. lol

IRjy5Wk.jpg

The game is 30 fps, no mechanical damage, no liveries, only 12 people max, so let's put all power and focus on graphics.

Audi must have some kind of new state of the art "roundy bendy" metal. Looks like the guy driving the Audi has gotten rear-ended a few times, yet look at those nice smooth curves. The bumper is smoothly bent both the upper and lower parts and the Audi plate is nicely rounded too. Not a sharp edge in sight. Hourglass figure damage modelling. lol

No way in hell Forza 5 looked as good as DriveClub. This is a ludicrous statement.

Oh I know I am replying to your off topic post with a on topic post.

You screwed up the formatting, so it looks like what you've said is what he's said (post 1039). It would be good if you would take a second to look at how your posts actually appear, rather than just rattling off one after another. They often need editing.

By the way, this is a really stupid thread. I thought the Games Lineup thread was bad, but this takes the anal-retentive, bickering fanboy cake.
