10hrs is just right for me, plus like alan wake i think there are collectables.

re: GB sounds like he went into game with a negative attitude and stayed that way.

I lol 'ed too when I read your post, some will think we collaborated.

I am just going by what I read on downloading the video, maybe the 75gb includes the game too and you can't dl the video portion alone?
It actually says 75 gigs when I checked my dl - the game clocks in at 45.7, then the video shows at 75.6! It hasn't dl'd yet, but shows "Ready to install". I'm assuming not doing that will leave it to stream.

I just realized that there has to be more than just 4 x 30 min episodes, as you can effect how they play out. It still seems high though, but whatever, I have unlimited data, and 250 mbps dl speed. I'll be fine.

Yeah, GB is like... I know quite a few people watch and read deep into them, but I was always the opposite of that. GB hates something out of ordinary = I'd like it.

Bit odd to have a well known hater of 3rd person shooters review one.

Man I wish I was so rich where I could buy up a couple mill copies of QB just to support Remedy. As it stands now 2 copies will have to suffice.

Fingers crossed this game doesn't bomb. Any other developer I wouldn't care this much but Remedy is my fav developer.

Reviewers usually give ambitious games some credit for the fact that it's trying something new.

I guess Remedy should have made a two hour artsy game with technically no gameplay.

Regardless of how it sells I hope they don't end the game on some kind of cliffhanger or anything that demands a sequel. You can't take for granted that a sequel will happen so I would rather not see another Alan Wake situation.

well it's MS IP so they may be required to at least leave it open for more

No way you can trust reviews these days. A lot of these kats are so entitled and act like whiney f***ing brats, its a wonder they even call themselves gamers and not the Golden Girls. I'll judge the game on my own merits, thanks.

Only a few more days! Can't wait to play. Reviewers tend to be an opinionated jaded bunch, more often than not with an agenda, so the negative folks out there won't deter me.

Or maybe they just don't like the game.

An "I don't like the game" but can appreciate that everything in it works, looks fantastic, does something completely new, and is genuinely enjoyed by others doesn't deserve a flopping, broken, click bait score of 40. I could see giving it a 70 or even a 60 if you want to make a statement of it not appealing to the reviewer's idea of fun.

DigitalFoundry: Quantum Break - An Xbox One Tech Showcase #1
Remedy's Quantum Break possesses a level of rendering technology that is supremely impressive. This game is doing things we've not seen in a mainstream title before.

I'm really impressed by the quality of the Game-play models and how the light interacts with them. The lighting is stupendous, especially if you even half understand that none of it is baked. Sure there are compromises, but it certainly looks to me like they are taking the best routes possible. Very nice!

I could give a s*** if THEY like it or not. This generation is probably the worst, wackiest generation, with the most entitled, whiny gamers I've ever experienced in ALL my years of gaming. Super hard to trust any reviewer's opinion these days for me, and its been that way for a while now. Nearly every one of them review games as if they create games themselves. Which none of them do. These game developers work hard as hell on every game they release. To hand the fate of one's hard work to some self entitled outsider who couldn't code a calculator, is meta.

It's amazing how much more you enjoy a game when you skip the so called "reviewers" and let the game speak for itself.

One opinion I trust for sure, is my own.

I've said this for a while now, but the guys at GB just come across as bored and jaded to me. That or they are being overly blase to come across as less nerdy. I don't know, but 40 is too low for a game that works. That translates to bad or poorly made. Makes it suspect.

Sounds like I'll be able to get through it in my two days off of work without much problem, and then go back and do a second playthrough at my leisure (as if I had leisure!). Nice to see some high reviews, unsurprised to see some ridiculously low reviews, entirely uncaring about any one else's opinion - it's motherfreaking Remedy.

Yea, I like giantbomb overall but there tastes have changed soo much that it seems like they only like Nintendo and Indy games. Which is fine, however they tend not to come across and very intelligible on a lot of big mainstream games these days.

I haven't cared about GB since they previewed the original Mass Effect and called it nothing more than a interactive movie. Lost all credibility.

Or maybe they just don't like the game.

Gerstman must have really hated the gameplay to ignore all the good work put into the game. Production value etc...
Granted he's not entirely alone.

You have to admit though, he's not really feeling Microsoft published games lately.

This is nice...game keeps looking better and better. Digital Foundry praising the graphics, and reviews are stellar.

OpenCritic - http://opencritic.com/game/1519/quantum-break

  • Gameplanet - 9.5 / 10

Quantum Break is magnificent, pushing the boundaries of what's possible both technically and from a narrative perspective.

  • Lazy gamer - 9 / 10

Quantum Break is another example of Remedy Entertainment sticking to what they know, and doing it better than anyone else. An engrossing adventure with a captivating story. experimentation with new mediums for telling stories in games and refined third-person gameplay to match. Quantum Break isn’t optional, it’s essential.

  • XBox Achievements - 9 / 10

Like Max Payne and Alan Wake before it, Quantum Break has already left me desperate for a sequel. And with one or two loose threads left dangling tantalisingly, the way is certainly open for one. Quantum Break is another superlative Remedy game, combining story and gameplay to startling effect. I want to go back in time and play it afresh, all over again.

  • Gaming Nexus - 9 / 10

Quantum Break continues the tradition of great games from Remedy with strong storytelling and fast, fun action.

  • Game Informer - 8.5 / 10

The show leaves a bit to be desired, but the game is full of breakneck firefights and stunning action set pieces

  • Polygon - 8.5 / 10

Quantum Break is a surprising success

  • ActionTrip - 8.5 / 10

Remedy has, without a doubt, crafted a very creative title with Quantum Break. It’s not going to be the killer exclusive game that so many were looking for with the Xbox One, but it’s definitely been worth the wait. Story gamers will especially delight in replaying the game multiple times to see the various episodes and experience the different paths the game itself can take. For anyone with an Xbox One, Quantum Break is a must-own.

  • The Jimquisition - 8.5 / 10

Quantum Break is not the most revolutionary of games, and its box of time toys cover what is, at heart, a fairly standardized shooter. However, it carries itself with style and speed to create something genuinely fascinating to play, flavored by a story that, while failing to pay off in the final stretch, is more detailed and engrossing than most in its league.

  • Gadgets NDTV360 - 8 / 10

With astounding production values, powerful story-telling, and rewarding combat, Quantum Break is a stellar game. But due to an underdeveloped upgrade system and poorly thought out content delivery that demands heavy bandwidth, it isn't exactly a game we can recommend to everyone wholeheartedly. Make no mistake though, if you have the means to play it as it was meant to be, it's worth experiencing.

  • IGN - 8 / 10

Quantum Break is a stylish, often-exhilarating third-person shooter wrapped up in a tautly paced tale of time travel.

  • Videogamer - 8 / 10

Quantum Break is a glorious use of current-gen power, with the visual fireworks on show making the combat feel positively joyous.

  • TheSixthAxis - 8 / 10

Quantum Break is an engaging and enjoyable narrative experience, and it makes the most of its stellar cast, pushing the boundaries of storytelling in games and presentation. However, it won’t be for everyone, particularly those who don’t like to be led by the hand or don’t want to spend an extended amount of time watching content rather than interacting with it. It also falsely makes you feel like you have a choice, but then, that’s much of its point, and despite a few missteps this is a story well worth experiencing.
