THE GROUPS
The top sixteen teams from around the world have fought tooth and nail to gain entry into the Halo World Championship 2016 Finals. Based on their placings in their respective regions, each team was placed into one of four pools where they would then be randomly drawn into their groups to determine the Round Robin style matchups. The top two teams from each group of four will advance into the Quarterfinals, while the bottom two will be eliminated from the tournament. (

CROWDFUNDED PRIZE POOL LANDS AT $2.5 MILLION
Since we first announced a starting prize pool of $1 million at Gamescom 2015, the winnings for the Halo World Championship has grown immensely due to community crowdfunding via the
Halo 5: Guardians REQ System. The final prize pool is now locked and players will compete to win their slice of $2.5 million at the Halo World Championship. And if being the best Halo team in the world wasn’t enough of an incentive, this might be: the first place team will take home a total of $1 million – the biggest individual prize pool in console esports history!

stone, the Halo World Championship 2016 is positioned to be a great competitive tournament with many epic battles sure to come. The tournament takes place over the course of three days from Friday, Mar. 18 to Sunday, Mar. 20. Playoffs start at 9 a.m. PT on Friday and Saturday, with the Finals taking place at 4 p.m. PT on Sunday. The winner of the Halo World Championship 2016 will receive $1 million, the biggest individual prize in console esports history.
