Official Thread Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

I don't make much of the trailer getting all those dislikes. It's the social media age. Half those people will still buy it just for the CoD4 remaster and then the other half will probably cave and buy it when they realize most of their friends bought it, lol. But hey, if you really want change stand your ground and don't buy it. That's your choice.

I don't know. Their previous few games never got anywhere near 1 million dislikes. Yet, the likes are in the same area they usually are.

While I don;t think the current 2 million dislikes is any indicator at all--as it seems to be an internet thing to dislike it now--the vast increase of dislikes after the reveal seems more telling. Although, I guess we need to consider that people may have disliked it just because of the bundle news.

I am not saying you are wrong though. We know gamers are pretty much morons, but it will be interesting to see how this game actually does.

It's funny, i have a buddy i went to school with who makes YouTube vids and he hated Call of Duty after Modern Warfare 2 but he says he's really excited for Infinite Warfare. Maybe it will bring in a new audience to counter all the hate it's getting. He's ready for something different for the franchise. It's true, we ask for something new and then when we get something new and we complain. Sadly, all i see Infinite Warfare being is Advanced Warfare 2. We'll see though.

This isn't something new though. Even if your friend hasn't played a COD since MW2, Infinite Warfare is still old ideas regurgitated and repackaged.

People asked for something new in Battlefield and look how well Battlefield 1 has gone down. Why, because it is actually something new for the series.

Well nothing is really completely new anyway. Just changing a setting doesn't change that in my opinion. The gameplay is for the most part the same, across all games this gen.

That is a pretty silly thing to say. Advanced Warfare changed game-play--not in a good way-- with its exo-suit. That is a direct result of its setting/era. Battlefield 1 will have to change its game-play to cater to WW1 warfare, which was unique and unlike anything previously seen in the Battlefield franchise.

Game-play, for the most part, is not the same across all games this gen at all. Even games that are very similar in a lot of way separate themselves in big ways. Like Advanced Warfare and Titanfall. Very similar games with similar ideas but the experience is vastly different because of key game-play aspects, like Mechs or Killstreaks. Neither of those 2 games have similar game-play to Battlefield 4, dishonoured, Destiny, etc...other than they are all FPS games where you point and shoot.

Yeah, here it is. Flip a few pages back next time. ;)

Thanks!! I was wondering what people are thinking of this game and if people are buying the more expensive version to get the MW remaster.

I haven't considered buying a COD game for years, but this game is looking really good! Campaign gameplay looks great and love the 80's theme zombie mode.

Still not sure though, I am looking to buy something instead of Titanfall, but undecided on which game to choose.

The CoD 4 Remaster has all 16 maps. 10 at launch. The other 6 are free downloads in Dec.

I like the new customization stuff they are doing both on player-style with the rigs and weapons. Assuming these differnt payloads, traits and weapon perks actually make a difference, it should mean lots of variety per match.

Glad there will be a beta. I liked what I saw. The weapon customization looks interesting.

I think this game is going to be incredible. I'm tired of comparing Call Of Duty games to other Call Of Duty games though. They are all wildly different.

Yeah, this is probably the first year in a longtime with a total mix of shooters. Lots of them, but at least it's varied.

Titanfall 2. Super sci-fi with mechs
Gears 4. Third person gorefest with humans vs aliens. Horde mode
BF1. WW1
CoD IW. A in-between mix of modernish sci-fi, but space battles
CoD 4 Remastered. Old school modern day soldiers. An updated game from 2007. The most high tech gadgets in the game are probably red dot sights, ACOG scopes and UAV jammer

So shooter fans can pick their poison. heck, there might even be another shooter I forgot.

Watching some of the CoD Remastered vids, wow. Was the M16 that lethal? I used it with stopping power, and I don't remember it being that fast to kill someone.

Yes, the COD4 M16 was a monster. I think people are mis-remembering COD4. The balance was sketchy and some of the maps were downright terrible (Bog anyone?).

People need to remember COD4 was before the huge masses hit the game.

I loved Bog.

Get to the dirt mound and use the RPD LMG. Probably the most important map to use a smoke nade as each team probably had 2 snipers at their ends.

If I remember right, I'd make a dash to the dirt mound, toss a smoke bomb and follow it with frags. Should get 1-2 kills and then keep them pinned down. Important to stay a little skewed on the mound away from the buildings as some clever enemies will shoot you if they make it far enough.

As long as the enemy doesn't spawn behind you (teammates pressed too far forward), owning the dirt mound was gold.

And yeah, it was unbalanced. The perks were way off as some were useless.

I think my key loadout was:

- M16 with red dot
- Frags x3 or Claymores x2 depending on the map
- Stopping power
- Martyrdom

Then for Bog, I used an RPD.

You're forgetting:

-Get spawn naded
-Respawn
-Get spawn naded
-Respawn and live
-Kill someone
-Die from martyrdom
-Go play Halo :)

Martyrdom and frags x3 weren't an issue for me since I camped in distant locations usually under some kind of cover or second floor window or rooftop.

Biggest threats to me were guys running past my claymores (CoD 4 probably had the least effective anti-personnel devices out of all games, but then WaW's betties were probably the most OP mines out of all game), so a rusher could easily sprint past them and SMG me with an MP5 or AK74

Best way to get out of spawn camps was to have a class with smoke bomb. Just toss it in front of you and make a mad dash to the flanks. An example is in Countdown map (the one with missiles and hangers everywhere). If you got spawn trapped in a hanger, toss it in front of you own hanger and make a dash to the side doors.

May be Activision BS as usual, but CoD Remaster is supposed to have dedicated servers.

Looks like Remastered is getting some gameplay tweaks. There were glitches in the original game (I didn't know) such as some guns showing up on the map when equipped with a silencer, and an M40 ACOG sniper rifle being one-hit kills no matter were it hit you.

So even though perks seem to be staying as is, some quirks are being ironed out in the Remaster.

I don't remember how killstreaks continued in the original game, but people are saying that if you call a chopper and get killed, the kills by the chopper add to your new killstreak. They are fixing that so if you get killed, no chopper kills contribute.

Good changes IMO.

Now as a campy martyrdom whore, my suggestion is to INCREASE the blast radius of dropped grenades by triple the radius. There are way too many gamers being able to get away from the blast or run by. LOL

Here is the story trailer, I don't get the hate for this game! I think it looks great! People complain that it's futuristic but they also complain when COD seems the same all the time, so much confused hate for this series lol.
