There's a new Twitch app in the Insider build today and holy hell, it's not total s*** anymore. Clean looking interface, fast navigation, fast loading etc etc... worth checking out if you used to use it before the years and years and years of being unkept trash of an app.

Finally. It had been almost unusable lately for me.

if no one is buying their games now what makes you think MS buying them will change anything?

Obviously the ship has sailed but its not all that nobody is buying them they have expensive license and they had terrible leadership. I don't know what IPs MS would have given them but in theory it could have been a good fit for gamepass.

Maybe keep them away from Minecraft ;) they could do a more personal halo game, or something totally new if they had MS funds.

Very sad news... except for twd season 3, I've loved every adaptation they've made. Twd and wolf being my favorites. I'm relieved that they were able to put out twds final season. I'm very sad that it doesn't look like I'll be playing wolf among us season 2 though.
Haven't read much about this but I'm hoping the talent gets hired at a good place so they can continue on a semi same track with new games. I'm the first to potate on non gamey games, and these games are pretty much interactive novels, but I do think they're needed in the industry...story driven games need a knight in shining armor to keep gamers from giving away to lootboxing companies imo.

It's kind of ironic that the studio Phil pointed at as being interesting for the direction they believe they're headed (GAAS) is going bankrupt while the studio they have no interest in letting work on a sequel to Sunset Overdrive is making bank for Sony.

The question that really needs to be asked is how was Sony allowed to lock up Spider Man and have a 3rd party dev make it.

Sony owns the rights to solo Spider-Man in movies and games right? I think that's why spidey took so long to get a solo movie in the mcu and even then it was a collaboration between them and marvel.

Totes.... there’s a post somewhere stating that the game wouldn’t have happened without Sony.

So how bad or out of luck was Marvel that there last resort was Sony, but also gave the opportunity to choose any IP/franchise they wanted?

Could this be a case similar to the first Titan Fall?

Sony own the rights to Spider-Man movies they produce. Don’t know the technicality to Homecoming, since they distributed it.

Same goes for Spider-Man games based upon movies they produced. But then how did Activison get to make games for said movies last gen?

There may be some conspiracy and internal favoritism between the two, conflict of interest perhaps. Since one guy at marvel once worked for Sony and was roommates with some higher up at Sony as well. I forget the details but it’s out there *plays x-files music*

Supposedly the Spider-Man game was in the works in 2014 before Spider-Man/MCU deal was actually made.

It's probably as simple as Sony actually seeing the uptake in the comic market and contacting Marvel to get something going; Marvel actually let Insomniac pick any character they wanted to use, they are the ones who chose to make a Spider-Man game.

Perhaps the Spider-Man game they were working on was based on the previous two films with Garfield.

I doubt they, Sony, were pushing for Spider-Man, since Marvel/Disney won’t promote anything that they don’t produce, like the X-men films. So it’s up to studios like Sony and Fox to push their movies while Marvel just collects money whilst on bench.

Then again this case is different, Marvel did post/paste their name/logo in front of the title, it’s “Marvels Spider-Man”

Activision owned the rights to Spider-Man in games until 2014 according to the digital foundry Spider-Man breakdown video.
