I missed the debate because I couldn't find it online to listen to while driving.

I was hoping that by now Yang would be announcing households selected from his UBI Raffle
( hint: pick me plz)

Or maybe some have been selected and they're waiting a few months to collect info on how it's been spent. It would help to show UBI in action in a variety of ways affecting people's lives.

It's weird though, some online commenters I listen to ranging from Joe Rogan or The Young Turks make comments about what are people going to do all day to how can people live on 12k per yer. Yang's message may be up against a deeply established idea of 'Work' and also to some extent 'Welfare'.

It sort of helps to simply frame it as a question of "What would you do with another $1000". Just quit your job as a crazy stunt to live on 12K? Or maybe be less 'Risk Averse' to trying out business ideas or investing in education? Maybe be able to cut back on hours?

Also, how $1000 times the population would affect a community and maybe revive downtown or mall stores?

He talks quite a bit about that last one, how $1,000 a month would really help the local community because that's where most of it would be spent.

A Government jobs program which is what a lot of Bernie supporters say is better doesn't make a lot of sense, how are you going to make sure the jobs are added where everyone lives? are poor people expected to somehow come up with the funds to pick up and move and go someplace else for the jobs the government offers? what if they are jobs that the person just isn't able to do? it's something that sounds good on the surface but when you dig into it just a bit it doesn't make anywhere near as much sense as UBI IMO.

Every city could use, constantly, infrastructure work. Also, keeping cities looking clean. There’s lots that can be done.

I fast forwarded the commercials during the debate. Apparently this happened. ❤️

I just saw the commercial on CNN. And yes, this is Saint Reagan’s son.

A lot of cities already have crews that do that kind of work and a lot of people can't do that kind of physical labor. My city always seems to have some streets blocked off for some kind of work, a lot of what they are doing isn't something that's even needed it just seems like it's being done to spend money. They have been putting in concrete medians on major streets that do nothing but stop people from being able to make left turns lol, yeah they are probably going to add some trees to them to make them look nicer but the only purpose they seem to serve is getting in the way and nobody was asking for them. We also have tree cutting constantly among other things. I don't see a whole lot of things that can be done in my city that aren't already being worked on.

Tulsi's worst night by far, she even looked tired at the start. She was clumsy and the only time she had any energy was when she was talking about how CNN and NYT smeared her.

Warren did well considering she had to defend herself all night but she has to just admit taxes will go up, this constant "costs will go down" may be true but she looks like she's giving a typical politician when she answers that way and it's not worth it, especially when Bernie was so honest about it.

Sanders was really good overall IMO especially when he shut Biden up about the things he's gotten done.

Yang was more forceful than usual and I was glad to see it, he still comes across as himself and not a typical politician and that's something I really like but he had them actually talking about automation and UBI, if he weren't running we wouldn't hear a thing about this on a democratic debate. He needs to stop slapping the microphone like it owes him money though lol.

Booker seems so fake anymore it drives me crazy, yeah he says nice things but he just has this fake way of saying it and it's a big turnoff.

Harris hasn't got a shot in hell, I don't know how anyone still supports her

Klobuchar was trying her best and it probably was her best night but she's not going to excite anyone.

Biden needs to go now, I like him but the guy can't seem to stay focused when he's talking about anything, he loses track or switches topics like crazy and it's sad.

Castro was fine, I've just started fast forwarding Beto and Mayor Pete lol.
He had to slap the microphone to .ake sure it was still on and not turned off like in MSNBC.

MOTHER f***ER! This will surely be contested in courts.

At least they now publicly admit it was a quid pro quo. Start going for their throats.
