I understand you're parroting tech YouTube influencers using incomplete info to create headlines and draw in a new audience. I know which influencer originated the stuff you're saying. I also know the guys from Digital Foundary have been shaking their heads about it and trying to add more context. They'll probably be putting up another video soonish.

Both consoles are using new features, hardware and customizations to fix old problems. Nobody really knows if memory is a bottleneck in either system right now. Both Microsoft and Sony claiming it isn't due to the SSDs and APIs. If memory and throughput aren't bottle-necks, then compute gets magnified. That said, we'll have to wait and see. Claims are just that.

By tribal, toxic fanboys on forums and their friends that are YouTube influencers. When the Microsoft NDA breaks and 3rd party devs shred them for inaccuracy, I'll take note. Not sure why it's so difficult to accept that Microsoft may have gained the same efficiencies on the same generation of architecture. No reason to shred DF as shills for saying Microsoft is doing similar things to gain efficiency compared to what everyone takes Cerny at his word for...therefore coming to the conclusion compute is a differentiator.

Again...I think these differences get overblown. It's not going to decide the plastic wars in the least. They are there. People who've had a long history of credibility and fairness shouldn't be getting shredded and replaced by YouTube influencers.

LOL, by whom? They know their sh!t better than most, and should be trusted over most. Shredded? That just sounds ridiculous! They are extremely thorough, and not some young fanboys. More thorough than just about any other YouTube channel I've ever seen. Who is more thorough out there, pray tell? Also, if they are wrong about something, I'm pretty sure that they would come back and say so, unlike most

Sorry, but this smells like absolute bullsh!t to me. I'm still getting both, but X seems to have the advantage in just about every way. To say otherwise just reeks if "secret sauce" made up ridiculousness. I'll not be upset to be wrong, but Occam's Razor says that I'm not. Either way, I'll get both, but people really need to stop making sh!t up.

DF has always been suspect,good site for reference but suspect none the less.
People are out tech talking them with no solid response in sight.
I plan on day one owning both and prefer the XB controller,BC and smart delivery over what Sony has showed thus far but most of my friends are on PS :rolleyes: So I mainly play there.

That is all you going to take notice of this gen because some of the people here need to be reminded that the XSX also has fast SDD in the system as well.

Do you really expect them to answer the hundreds of fanboys? DF has been doing this longer, has more industry insiders, contacts, been through the most fluff presentations and have been the go-to for thorough and detailed comparisons in the industry. Out tech-talked by people saying they didn't point out that PS5 is using more cores...is pretty laughable...when it's not a thing.

They aren't infallible. Nobody is. Especially not right now when both Microsoft and Sony are holding stuff back.

NX Gamer's video is incomplete and saying that some of the features that DF was selling about Series X were basically over-sold PR....without much basis. Unless his dev contacts are more extensive than DF's, he's over-reaching with his public theories.

Calling Velocity fluff while taking Cerny's branding face value is a bad look no matter if he turns out to be right long run. He'd better have damned good sources.

Now that the ps5 is more powerful, I guess it's expected to have better 3rd party graphics and framerates.... or I guess if not, it's the developers that's lazy, just like with the ps3? Also, it prob will be more expensive than the xsx, being more powerful?

You know these debates are exhausting and as we've seen so many times, really don't matter a lot in the long run. Microsoft picked the best setup to match PC game development because that's the only choice for them based on their business strategy. It's a f'n monster console based on having something compatible with PC. Sony picked a setup, for better or worse, that allows their exclusive devs to focus on development in a way not possible on any platform including PC.

I feel Microsofts setup will allow for better multiplats because 3rd party devs make games for PC. The exclusives on both platforms will be impacted more by the talent, manpower, tools and time than the power delta. The games will ultimately be the witnesses on the stand. Until the games, we're all arguing with no resolution.

What's not being talked about is both systems have taken gigantic jumps in CPU power while simultaneously off-loading some heavy lifting for the CPUs. We're going to get real next gen jumps in gameplay from 1st and 3rd party devs me thinks. Finally...physics. No need for power of the cloud this time.

or Direct X 12. 😁 I am old enough to remember how Direct X 12 was hyped by McMasters like the 2nd coming of Debbie Gibson.

The presentations from MS & Sony reminded me when I was in school where I add a lot of charts & graphs, & over-elaborate & sensationalize the little content I had to feel the pages in a report.
