What movies have you seen recently?

I was watching Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford recently just finished the last half hour. This is a very underrated film. Feel like it is a masterpiece. Casting, acting, direction, cinematography, haunting musical score. Great film.
Very underrated. It’s film perfection.

The autopsy of Jane Doe
the first 2/3 of the movie was great then they somehow f***ed it all up with s***ty camera angles, terrible script and acting and a bad ending.

Con Air
Haven't seen this since the early 2000s... it's still great! The Buscemi with the little girl scene still feels weird and fitting for some strange reason. No Cage being Cagey though, he does cage out for 2 seconds while being happy for getting out when talking to his ebony friend in prison though lol

Followed up Pinnochio with A.I. Artificial Intelligence.

AI is another weird ass movie with a lot of creepy/cringe moments. Ultimately it's a fairy tale, in the same vein as Pinnochio. I read up on the production history of this film, and it goes back to the 90's when Kubrick started pre-production, but gave up because he didn't like CGI tech at the time. Spielberg took over and cast Haley Joel Osment as the robot boy instead of relying on CGI.

Hamilton: Interesting, but I can't stand musicals

I do like history, and it was an interesting story overall, but musicals annoy me with the unceasing singing. The rapping was great, however. Also, given what the social climate is towards the founding fathers right now, I'm surprised people still laud this show. Lastly, Eliza Hamilton seems to have made a much greater social impact with her work, and she basically got only a few minutes in the spotlight at the end - another aspect that today's climate should object to.

Force of Nature: starring Mel Giboson and Emil Hirsch

Eh. Low-budget action pic with a decent premise, but the writing and acting are surprisingly bad.

I don't like musicals either but I really enjoyed it. Worthy of the hype.

I take back what I said about the Hobbit being too long....

The Lord of the Rings trilogy - f*** they're long. Tthe more I see it the more I don't like the Frodo journey parts, it just seems so dull compared to everything else.

The Trilogy plus Extended Editions is a masterpiece. I rewatched it last year. Still holds up as the greatest trilogy ever made.

I did have to watch to watch ROTK over two nights though lol.

I watched the extended versions.

I'm not saying they are bad. Just that once Frodo and Sam depart the group their story is boring, important, but dull relative to the rest of the movie...especially after multiple viewings.

Dr. Doolittle

Overcame all rational thought to watch this movie...and I actually slightly enjoyed it, probably because I was expecting a full-on train wreck. It wasn't a great film, but definitely not unwatchable.

The Old Guard - Eh! Action scenes were decent but too few.

Greyhound - Eh! Kind of tried a 1917 but without the continuos shot.

I watched some newer movies recently. Knives Out was a great murder mystery film we don’t get ones this good enough. Great cast. It’s on Amazon Prime. Then I watched Ford vs Ferrari thought it was really damn good would like to watch it again. It’s on HBO streaming services.

Thanks for the heads up on Knives Out, I'd like to check that one out again and see if I pick up on anything I missed the first go round. Excellent flick
