Yes. However you can speed it up or take off and skip right to the landing.
The sim elements though are real time. So long haul flights take exactly the same time they would in the real world.

Landing at St Barths in the Carribean (TFFJ). This looks nuts, but it is a real approach. There's a landing challenge with the TBM which I want to try, but even with a 172 it is tough. There's a hill right in front of the runway and you have to basically dive down to the runway. Look up St Barths on Youtube for some crazy real life footage. There are airplanes flying over car traffic and only clearing it by a few feet.
You can use gps coordinates to go to locations in Flightsim, so you don't have to find an airport nearby and navigate to find things.
caved and bought my girl a flight stick as a surprise, I'm picking it up at Microcenter after work today. I saw how much she hated playing with KB/M/controller and I expressed the same frustration so I bought this for her

I'm just blown away with this game. I've been watching YouTube videos of real Airbus and 747 pilots flying their respective jets in this game and they are saying in a nutshell this is the real deal. I even like it when they're about to taxi to the runway the preflight checklist they go through.
i thought it was like an old 80s workout machine... but this comes close

Hopefully the game translates successfully over to the Series X with all the bells and whistles. The game looks photorealistic 99% of the time and the other 1% looks better than any game ever released! LOL...and for once in my entire gaming career when I say photorealistic, I mean it...
