This game seriously has me considering upgrading my PC and skipping on the next gen consoles completely for now.

Although the performance I get on my I7 with a 1080 is still amazing and actually perfectly acceptable, which is more amazing than anything. If you ever tried to run an older version of Flightsim on a 3 year old computer, it would barely work at all.

I have to see what this thing will look like on an I9 with a 2080.

There's almost 0 reason to buy a next gen Xbox. All First Party Xbox exclusives will be on PC day 1.

Honestly the only thing that keeps me on console is multiplayer games. I prefer the more casual controller games without PC cheaters and crazy try hards.

People are even cheating on Fall Guys on PC FFS. That's sad and a real problem. People were cheating in the closed beta too. I mean, how bold do you have to be to cheat in a closed beta? On PS4 the game is great and I haven't run into one cheater.

I'd much rather play games like COD on a controller with other controller users. I'm 46 years old... I can't hang with the big boys anymore. I could barely get by in PC shooters when I was in my 20s.

You can use a controller and be matched with console players.

My work computer is a pile of s***, lol!

That stinks. Just wait to get it on the Series X then.

Yeah. I've got an i9-10900K @ 5.2ghz and an RTX 2080Ti. On ultra at 1440P on my 165hz monitor...it looks photorealistic IMHO.
Your performance on your rig though should be pretty good too. GTX 1080 with an i7 is no slouch.

Stayed up late and got the game installed finally. Had my girlfriend do the first tutorial mission and went to bed. I'll be checking it out more today.

Those tutorials are good stuff. I tried skipping them and I had a terrible time on my first flight. Went back and aced it.

Game keeps crashing, I did up to the take off training and the game crashed twice.

This game is almost impossible without a controller and even then it's extremely hard. I feel like I need a flight stick or yoke.

Even the 172 is a little twitchy for me and I have a joystick, throttle and even rudder pedals. I notice the rudder gets really twitchy on take off. The controls in general feel more like a fighter plane than a general aviation plane.

The game could use some more advanced joystick options for sure. I had to download a 3rd party program to get my stuff to work properly. You can invert axis though, I know that was asked before. That's about the only option though.

I had one crash, but I notice the game "froze" on me a few times, but I actually waited and it came back. I was over NYC and changed the time of day and everything just stopped. I was about to ctrl-alt-delete it when it came back.

I feel like everything is way too sensitive. I turned down the sensitivity on my controller in the options to 50% and it feels like it did nothing.

So I use a thrustmaster stick and even then I had to dial in settings greatly.

Another thing I noticed from my time using a One X controller. Like you said it is extremely sensitive. The rudder controls especially. For good rudder movement I adjusted the sensitivity as well as feathered the triggers for small micro movements. If you don't do small adjustments on the rudder controls using a controller...you will get jerky movements.

The official Discord server for the game is POPPIN' right now. I've been in here watching peoples streams for the better part of my...ahem...."work day"...I am working from home today though

Buddy of mine has been playing this non stop since it came out yesterday. Sent pictures of Richmond and honestly it's so close to the real thing, except it's missing an art museum they built three years ago next door to my office and now I think it the game sucks.

Get your s*** together Microsoft

So true. Also...I just figured out how to use the drone cam! Might flight from London, Heathrow Airport to Amsterdam, Netherlands Schiphol Airport.

I'm still working on the landing thing. Though the attention to detail is pretty good. At my local airport, when you fly in, to land you have to fly over the ocean a bit no matter where you're coming from to get to the arrival runnway. Flight Sim made me do exactly that way.

The icing is amazing in this game. Start a flight in Buffalo or somewhere else cold as ****, set the calendar to January and the weather to snow and take off in a small plane. Within minutes, my screen was completely iced over and my wings were struggling to keep the plane in the air. I could not see out at all and could barely keep the plane flying. I went in and set the weather back to live which sets the date back to now and the ice slowly starts to melt off the windshield. That is really cool.

Also there seems to be working airport marshals or whatever you call them (the people with the little lights that direct planes). I flew to a small airport, and there was someone waving me left or right and then to stop (I think) and cut my engines. Was really neat.

Are there any military planes to fly or other very high speed jets?

Nope. Only a couple airliners and some private jets (cessna citations). Nothing military, no helicopters (but those are rumored to he high on the list to be added). Closest thing is some aerobatic planes.

There's already a few payware addons available so we'll see some at some point. I was listening to a guy who develops airplanes for the older games and he says everything is different in the SDK so they are just learning. Everything goes through an MS store now so nobody knows how freeware will work (if at all).

The devs are allowing third party flight sim devs to sell their products in game so we can expect plenty of planes. There’s even add-ons where you can have realistic air traffic control.

Since I don't game on PC, I hope everything that's available on PC is available on Series X.

Most of the 3rd party devs have their own storefronts or there are some generic ones that people use (Flight1, Simmarket, etc) so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. If everything stays in the MS Store, it should port over to console just fine I would think. I'm sure MS will take a chunk off the top so that will need to play out.
