Fans on most electronics are variable based on heat, so that would explain why people have different results. My work laptop is quiet until I get too much clutter around it, then it starts whining like a vacuum cleaner until it cools down.

People have to get past this idea that "fan noise is bad". The fan is working to keep the electronic device cool. If the thing gets too hot, it will eventually get very, very quiet when it stops working completely.

There was someone who took several PS5's apart and some consoles had different fans than the other or something. And it was completely random which Ps5 got the better fan setup. Let me see if I can find it again.

Got it https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pl...ps5-fan-fans-cooling-louder-how-to-check/amp/

In their research, Les Numeriques found that one fan (Fan A) ran 38 dB at the air inlet while the other (Fan B) ran 43 dB at the inlet under the same conditions. It’s not a massive difference, and still much quieter than the PS4, which could exceed 60 dB at times. The different PS5 fans are the same size, fitting into the PS5 in the same way. Where they differ is in the blades, with vastly different configurations on each one. The quieter fan blades don’t extend all the way to the central spoke of the fan. The blades of Fan A are also more densely packed.

There's always going to be different parts, but the bigger difference is usually environment. Fan noise more often than not is the electronic complaining that it is too hot. People make it far too complicated.

The same thing happened with the PS4 Pro, two different fans.

Not sure if it means anything, but Amazon changed their status to "available from these sellers" instead of just "nope". I've been watching and not seen anything. Hopefully this means they'll have some in after Christmas.

I don't even need one right now, but them being so hard to find makes me want one that much more.

This just seems silly, I know they need views but why would someone buy a console and then tamper with it just to show it fail? We know if thermal paste would have done they job they'd have gone with that, it's cheaper but the liquid metal is doing very nicely. These people kind of piss me off, there are people all over trying to find consoles to buy and we keep seeing "youtubers" break them on purpose just for views. I mean at the end of the day this video doesn't teach anyone anything.

DualSense Haptics Is Kind of Game-Changing, Says FIFA 21 Dev; We’ll Add More to It Going Forward

Even FIFA 21 implemented DualSense support. For example, shots taken with a player's left foot will be felt more on the left side of the PlayStation 5 controller, while tackles generate much stronger vibration compared to a regular shoulder-to-shoulder jostle. Also, when using triggers to sprint, you'll feel the increasing fatigue of players as the match goes on in the form of stronger resistance via the controller's triggers.

"Going forward, we’ll definitely want to continue to add features and make more use of the DualSense haptics because it’s kind of game-changing."

Nothing failed there though, they both played games just fine. The PS5 with the thermal paste was just a bit louder and spit out cooler air because the liquid metal is more efficient at transferring heat away from the chip into the heatsink.

I didn't click it, I won't give those people views but I saw someone on neogaf say it overheated so I assumed they were telling the truth. At the end of the day though Sony spent a ton of money coming up with something that could cool the PS5 and keep it quiet for long term use and do it in the most cost effective way. Some guy tearing it apart and putting something cheaper on it as an experiment when the company making the product has no doubt already tried it just seems like a complete waste.

They did a test with the fan unplugged on both the stock console and the one with thermal paste and they BOTH over heated...as expected. Next time watch the video.

Nope, not going to give them the view. Why would you waste time watching a video where unplugging a fan makes something overheat? wouldn't common sense tell you that's going to happen? otherwise why put a fan in to begin with? It's just stupid s*** to do for views. Would you watch a video where a guy unplugs his freezer to see if the ice cream melts? that's pretty much the same thing as what these people are doing.

SIE London Studio Is Working On a Big PS5 Project With Online Multiplayer

SIE London Studio has mostly worked on smaller projects, however, there are a few exceptions like Blood and Truth and The Getaway series. They were also behind the Eight Day demo that was showcased for the PS3 but never made it into an actual game. Their recent job listing suggests their next big project will offer online multiplayer.

The job listings are for a Lead 3D Character Artist, Senior Gameplay Programmer, and Lead Online Programmer. The interesting part here is how they are mentioning AAA games as experience here for most of the positions. This is fairly standard practice, however, SIE London Studio’s Blood and Truth wasn’t really a traditional AAA game. It was received well by critics.

As for the Lead Online Programmer, it suggests that there will be multiplayer implementation in their new game. “As the Lead Online Programmer, you will work together with multiple disciplines within our engine and game teams to lead the development of the online features required for our next big title. These features could include networked physics and animation systems, game logic, matchmaking and session management, among others, ” reads the job listing.

It's about time. I was waiting for these guys to jump back into the AAA space. They have a lot of talent that needs to be put to work other than small projects.

We use haptics on all of Kena’s abilities and shield, and at the moment we use the adaptive triggers when using the bow. You have a little bit of resistance on the right trigger that tightens as you full draw. When you do have the string fully drawn the bow has more power and more accuracy and you’ll feel that tension in the trigger as you pull back. There are some fun minigames too; these train you up to use the bow.

Yeah, there’re definitely opportunities for additional spirits that we couldn’t get into this game that would have additional loops you could go on to open up in the game.

Bloodborne Listed as a “Franchise” by a Senior PlayStation Executive

As discovered on the Linkedin profile of senior PlayStation executive, Shiva Allari, Sony apparently considers Bloodborne as a franchise. The game was developed in collaboration between From Software and SIE Japan Studio. Sony owns the Bloodborne IP just like Demon’s Souls, so this listing can’t be taken as a mistake but rather intentional.
