Yeah, I’ve never had a game crash on me this much. Probably once every 2 hours. Like I said though while it’s not great, as long as it’s not crashing the Xbox I can handle it.
I'm having them too, but fortunately it seems that like whatever you've gotten done is remembered (I was doing one of those bureau incursions or whatever the heck it was, the ones where you have 20 minutes to kill a group of tougher enemies) and I finished the "quest" and was about five seconds into killing off more of the scrubs hanging around when it dropped me to home. Started back up and I was at the most recent control point with the rewards still. But if it happens when I get to the AW DLC (since I only played the base game on PC) that will suck. It may also be an ultimate edition only thing, since the teenager was playing the game a few weeks back before ultimate came out and he said it like never crashed.

Did it crash from the beginning for you, or was it after a certain point? I still haven't had any, but I'm not super far into the game yet. Only have a couple abilities at this point.

The couple in the beginning after using quick resume, I played several hours yesterday though and got probably 5 crashes. Have no idea the cause. I’d say I’m a little more that halfway through the campaign

I'm only a few hours in and got the second weapon from.....Shatter. Pierce & Grip were my go-to weapon forms when I was playing this on PS4. Shatter is great at short range but I tend to keep my distance in this game especially once I got the ability to throw back grenades which could end badly if too close.

No crashes so far but I'm still in the early part of this game, just hope my experience stays positive. This is one of the few shooters to have aim assist turned off by default, thank the gaming gods. I find aim assist hurts more than it helps.

I spoke too soon. I had two crashes happen to me last night while trying to initiate the Directorial Override. The first while I was repairing the pumps and the second right as I about to finish off the miniboss that comes after. Both times I was suddenly back at the dashboard but was able to quickly get back to the part I was at but its annoying.

Crap, I'm at that fast travel point outside of both right now.

Yeah, it sucks because now I'm worried about the game's stability going forward now that I've got back into it. The good thing is the game seems to save progress as its made. I had repaired two of the three pumps and after the crash and reboot I was right where I left off. I did have to fight the miniboss again but he's a push over so it was no dig deal. But if a crash happens during a certain cheap boss fight that annoyed the hell out of me while I was playing on PS4 that's likely to cause thoughts of quitting which would be a shame for such a fun game. I hope remedy has a fix in the works and releases it soon.

Beat the game and the foundation dlc, just loving the gameplay and story! Gonna be sad when I finish the last dlc. Crashes were a downer but I never lost any progress and it takes 30 seconds to get into the game from the dashboard

I finished the other dlc and the game, doing foundation now. If you played Alan Wake, A.W.E. will be the s***.

Nice!! Just started it, can’t wait to see how it ties into AW

Edit: Also the foundation got some mixed reviews but I had a blast. Loved the new powers

I don’t know if it’s the fancy graphics or what but while this game didn’t pull me in before, I am hooked now!! It’s just so fun, and the over the top weird story is pretty entertaining.

On the downside I’m getting pretty regular crashes. Most games that have this issue crash the entire Xbox so I’m glad it’s not doing that. The quick loading also means I’m back in the game pretty quickly
I dont have crashes, but I broke down and bought the ultimate edition. I have played about half way through on my PC (2080S/3900k) but I just have trouble gaming on PC. Now I'm on series X I'm enjoying it much more and I'm impressed with the RT (though it's not as good as on my PC).

I was playing the "last gen" version right before switching to the upgrade and it really drives home how much better RT is than SSR. Seriously looks a generation better to me. The HDR and contrast levels are better too.

Well gotta take back what I said earlier, just crashes after beating a boss and when I reloaded I have to do it all over again. Sucks!

Finished AWE, it was good but I liked the foundation DLC better. Now just to mop up some side missions and all done!

Remedy games are the best

It made me want another Alan Wake game so bad. I even noticed they made a new in game model for him in some of those cutscenes when they could have just done video.

While playing over the weekend I received a side mission to investigate the Sector elevator. I thought it would be a short mission like the others but instead turned out to be the start of the Alan Wake expansion. It took me about 4 hours to complete it and there are still a couple side missions left. It was really cool having to use the mechanics from the A. Wake franchise and I really like the seamless transition from the main game to this expansion.

Looks like I'm almost done with the main game. Its been a fun ride that's for sure. We need more developers like remedy that continue to make great single player experiences like this.

Started playing this a few days ago. Beat the base game 100%, just 100% Foundation, and am about 3/4 of the way through the Alan Wake DLC.

I just love Remedy games.

I was closer to the end than I thought, completed the main game last night. what a wacky mind bending conclusion. I won't spoil anything but I had no idea of how deep The Hiss infiltration had gone. And Remedy left that vital piece of information out until the very end. I still have The Foundation dlc to play but I'm a little sad that the ride is almost over. I haven't played Quantum Break but I'm left with the thought that Control is one of if not their best written work.

Yeah it’s a crazy good game and I just finished the Alan Wake DLC.

1390/1390 for Achievements as well 🎉

I'm still having tons of trouble with the boss form that side mission

I’ll tell you I love this games version of god mode. It’s called immortality in the settings, and instead of just being immune to everything you still take damage and collect health, you just don’t die.

I liked that a lot because I didn’t have to worry about difficulty spikes, I was still motivated to not take damage, and you know where you would and would not have died. Also it doesn’t disable achievements.

Great setting to use when you want to have a more chill experience

Well, I finally got him. I've found a number of the bosses to be irritating. I really hate the airborne rangers. When you have an agile air enemy and they drop one of those invisible ambush things. Grrr. And that horrible map.

Anyway. Great game. Beat it tonight. I had a lot of fun with it and it looks faboo on series X. Not a fan of the uncanny valley on the characters though...

I finally got around to playing this today and wish I hadn't. I was really looking forward to this before it came out, but passed on it. If I would've paid $ for this I would've been pissed.

Apparently Remedy sneakily added HDR into Control Ultimate Edition via an update today to fix the crashes / hitching on XS systems.

Sounds like this HDR patch is Xbox Series consoles only at the moment. I tried it out, game is looking more colorful and brighter now. I like it.
